[JUNE] Test Drive

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. EVENTS - Feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!
Blavat Sky | Black Butler | 4+1
But.
Keeping a dour expression wouldn't do, and it would hardly get answers. People were at their best (and most cooperative) when they were happy and at ease, so he masked his solemn expression with a bright smile and grabbed the arm of the first person close enough.
"Excuse me~ Would you be so kind as to point me back towards the train station?"
((ooc: Just a note, Blavat can identify non-humans at a glance and tells a mean accurate fortune, but let me know if there's something you don't want him pointing out.))
Non-human here!
"Back that way," he advises, indicating up the road. "You haven't come far from it yet."
He frowns, coming to the slow realisation that this is an unfamiliar face. "I hope you don't think you're getting a train home from there. You're out of luck, if that's the case."
That awkward moment when you meet your home country
But after a beat the shock is gone and he's all smiles again.
"Ah, I'm sorry if I startled you!" although he hardly sounds apologetic, "I'm just not quite the best with directions and I seem to have gotten turned around~" He offers an innocent shrug and chuckle before tilting his head.
"And why do you say that...?"
Oh god I didn't even do that on purpose
"Because that simply isn't how it works."
After a while, you forget that everyone else doesn't just know these kinds of things. "People get off, but they don't get on. Bloody demonic magic in my opinion."
That's even better
"Demonic, hm? No... I don't feel like that's the issue here, unfortunately." For another moment his tone is more serious, although his smile turns a bit mischievous before he continues.
"If it were something like that it would be much simpler to spot!"
;D
His experience is not limited even if his experience of success is. There's really nothing like Russia's head sticking out of your floor for the third time in as many weeks to put you off black magic for good. He'd been getting annoyed.
"Come along. If you want some questions answering I'm not standing about in the street." Tone tinged with an impatience that seems simply part of him, he indicates a small shop not far from them. "It's high time for a cup of tea, if you'd like to join me."

As they walk through the door, he gestures to the booths and neat tables. "Find a seat. Now, I'll brew us a pot and you can ask what you think you need to know."
He pauses, then, half way to reaching up for a box of black tea.
"Ah, I'm Arthur. Arthur Kirkland."
no subject
Once inside he settled himself into one of the booths, stretching with a hum. Another smile forms on his lips at Arthur's pause as he rests his chin on a hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Blavat, at your service."
no subject
"A pleasure," he responds in kind, ducking behind the counter for teacups and a white china teapot. "I must say I've never heard Blavat used as a first name. Where do you come from?"
The accent had been noticed, naturally, and noted, but accents could be learned.
no subject
"Oh? Well I suppose it is a little unique~" he hums before chuckling. His name is hardly the only thing about him that could be considered odd, but that's just par for the course when you look and dress like he does. "But I'm from London."
no subject
So the teens arm was the one Blavat ended up grabbing hold of, making the boy stop and give him a look, hand tightening on his walking stick. He may not have gotten along with some people in the city, but most weren't so rude as to just grab someone as they walked by. Ciel, at least, was forgiving. Usually. And this gentleman looked new, if a little strange.
"The station? It's just that way." He raised the walking stick to point in the right direction. "But not many houses or apartments are available that way. You'd be better off looking near the shops, if you need somewhere to stay."
no subject
"Ah! It's you! The one with the protection of Sirius!" His need for directions seemed to have been put temporarily on hold as he grinned wider, his grip notedly not loosening on Ciel's arm. He looked about for a moment as if surveying the crowd for someone else before he turned back towards the other with a knowing grin.
"You're not with that dark friend of yours now? I'm glad you followed my advice."
no subject
"You've mistaken me for someone else. I don't know what Sirius is." Or how he would have the protection of someone or something he wasn't aware of. Ciel didn't need protection, he would tell himself. He'd always had Sebastian and his servants, he had his gun here and he was a good shot. There was ls the elves that looked in on him from time to time.
no subject
"Ah, you must be right! You just look extremely similar to someone else, that's all. I must have given you a fright~"
no subject
And the city was already so strange that, of course, it would attract more strange people to it. However much Ciel wanted to complain, it seemed natural.
"You'll find there's much more in this city to be surprised about than familiar faces."
no subject
His attention turned back toward Ciel, head tilting as he flashed his usual disarming smile. Whether or not the boy remembered him was unipmortant in the end, he wasn't necessary to him here beyond any information he might provide. It wouldn't do to leave the hall unattended for too long...
