[She gives a laugh as falsely sweet as sugary bells and you can practically hear the way her curls bounce.]

Hunger Games, huh? You sound like quite the well-read young man. What's a boy like you done to get himself landed here?

[Okay. Yeah. Kate is literally setting off every creeper alarm in his head possible. (Even more than Derek did when they first met, which is pretty impressive, to be honest.) Making a disgusted face at the compact (and overall just relieved that she can't see him), Stiles tries to keep any and all grossed out flailing to a minimum--or at least, a quiet minimum--and swallows down the familiar taste of fear and general gross in the back of his mouth.

Also he's officially regretting saying his first name. And wincing every time she says it..]

Your pocket watch thing's on video. [Helpfully.] And--I don't know, maybe I'm just really, really, really unlucky. I conked out in class and then I woke up on that train. [ugh is she flirting with him oh my god this is REALLY GROSS]

Yeah, that's... about what happened to me as well. I was handing my niece my old necklace and--

[Lies. Liar liar liar liar liar. Stiles's mouth opens and he snaps it shut, grinding his teeth to keep from saying anything about it. It's amazing how easy it is to catch someone lying when you've had a front row seat to the majority of their really, really bad life decisions. Absentmindedly he wonders what happened to that stupid necklace--Stiles is kind of hoping Allison burned it. Karmic retribution or something.]

It's like a screwed up version of sleeping beauty. [C'mon Stiles, you got this.]
