TEST-DRIVE MEME

Maybe you've considered appping a new character but you're not sure how well they would adjust to the in-game scenario? Well, here's a chance to give it a try!

• Post with a character journal you'd like to voicetest or you've considered apping to Ruby City. Feel free to play them as newcomers or as if they've been here for a while - the setting is your own choice.

•Respond to other threads with new characters or with characters who are already in the game.

• Explore different interactions, find castmates, develop possible CR - anything you want, as long as you have fun!

[The fact that he should be scared never even registers with Stiles. Derek could literally tear him to shreds without even batting an eye, and the growl practically rattling the doorframe was every sign of it. The moment they've made eye contact feels like it lasts for ages and the tension is so tight you could cut the air with a knife, suffocatingly intense as he literally faces down the beast.

Derek taking a breath is what shatters it, and Stiles finally remembers to exhale himself, still holding onto the doorframe with his hand, a physical block to combine with the emotional one. Derek can't. He just can't go out there and kill her. Even if she deserves it.]

We have to find out how she got here, and--what the hell she's doing here. [He can't claim to understand, can't even begin to feel what it would feel like to face down the person who murdered his family and be unable to take her away. (There was not a single fist he could throw up against cancer--his own sorrow at his family was an endless, quiet soundtrack in the back of his head, compared to what must have been Derek's symphony.)] None of these people know what she is.

[ With a heavy exhale that rumbles at the end, Derek opens his eyes to look at Stiles again. He still hasn't moved and doesn't seem like he intends to any time soon. It registers as strange to him, but it's beneath the rage roiling in him over Kate. Maybe later he'll think on it, but for now it's nothing more than an idle thought.

Flexing his fingers, his claws recede back into blunt nails, though his eyes remain bright and blood red. There's too much there for him to get a handle on them just yet, and it's not as if he needs to here. Not in the Marauders' house, and not with Stiles.
]

She should be dead. [ He doesn't mean for that to come out as pained or strained as it does, in the undercurrent of the growl, but it does. ] We need--

[ His mouth snaps shut, jaw tightening again. They need to warn people, but he knows Kate. It'll turn into he said, she said. ]

[He finally breaks his gaze from Derek's face to his claws, tension sinking from his shoulders as they start to recede. Derek out of control is something he's not used to, something no one's used to, and it's downright disconcerting to watch him heaving with anger like that.

(It puts the thought of Peter in that monstrous form in his head for a minute--the idea of Derek taking that on flickers back somewhere in his conscious but Stiles shoves it out.)

Finally letting his hand drop from the doorframe, he folds them across his chest instead, thinking. Stiles wishes his dad was here, for just a second--even if he's not on the up and up on the whole supernatural thing, he always seemed to know what to say, what to do. All he can do is emulate his dad, and he's doing it only barely consciously as the tenative cloud of a plan starts to form in his head. ]
I know, I know, dude, I was there too. Pretty sure throat-slashing generally means death for a human, crazy or not.

[Stiles' brow furrows.]
We can warn Remus personally--the others, too, everyone in the house. From there it's just keeping an eye on her until we figure out something. If she stays alone, she's less of a problem.

[It's code for keeping Derek away from her for as long as possible, too. Unless they can get word out to the rest of the city who she is and what she's done, conspicuously, there's no way to know how many people she'll charm into her side. And if Derek murders her--well, okay, exacts vengeance, really, finishes the job, whatever you want to call it--then he'll be a pariah. Again.]
