It's too bad there aren't more of us here, but I think I actually enjoy the peace and quiet for a change. [ Speaking as the only sane person from the 104th squad, he really needs a break. ]

[ Just wait, Marco, one day you can house train your Jean with chocolate treats! ]

Yeah, the other guys would flip. [ He sighs, gripping his temple just at the thought of it. If Eren or Connie or Reiner were here, they'd get no rest. Those guys're so noisy. ]

Mikasa's here at least, but... Even if it was just me and you, that'd be alright.

Well, it's kinda nice to get to know her better, what with Eren not being around.

[ But Jean's right, even if it was just the two of them, it'd be alright. ]

But even so, I think we got lucky, being taken here together.

Yeah... [ Though it's probably rude to talk about the girl you've got a crush on when you're on date with your best friend, Jean. ]

I'm really... glad we were. [ Yeah, it's kind of embarrassing to admit but. The fact that they're here and Marco isn't dead is the luckiest part. Jean goes ahead and reaches over, taking one of Marco's hands. Yeah, he's blushing. ] Guess our shit luck couldn't go on forever.

[ Marco's heart skips a beat because oh no he's grabbing his hand what does he do. ]

Well, bad luck or not, it's still our life so far.

[ Ah, here's an idea, he'll reach out with his other hand and grab Jean's free hand. Make the moment about 200% more gay. ]

Our experiences, our memories... everything made us into who we are today, hasn't it?

[ He can't help but smile a lot, blushing a bit. ]

I'm just glad I get to share all of that with you.

[ Marco don't-- he'll cry-- Like, he'll actually get teary-eyed this is REALLY embarrassing. Everything he's seen, even Marco's death has... gotten him here... ]

Marco, I... [ Give him a minute to look away and hide his gross face. Since he doesn't want to let go of Marco's hands, it's even more awkward. ] I'm really glad I met you.

[ Sorry Jean he's just going to pull you into a hug. You're pretty easy to read in Marco's eyes and he's pretty sure a hug is what you need right now. ]

Jean... [ He closes his eyes, savoring every second that passes. ] ....I'm really glad I met you too.

[ Jean hugs Marco right back, wrapping his arms around him and pulling him close. He never thought he'd get a chance like this again, and he's not gonna cry, dammit! It's warm in Marco's arms and he kinda just wants to stay there. ]

[ Maybe just for a little while. Till it gets awkward. ]

[ Don't mind Marco, he's just going to strengthen his grip on you, Jean, because, really, this is a moment that has to last more than a few seconds. It's just nice to be able to take a break from everything and just enjoy being in another person's arms, friend or otherwise. Actually, he's probably not going to let go any time soon.]

[ W-well the same can be said for Jean!! Just the fact that he can hold Marco close and feel his heartbeat and hear him breathing is... wow. This is like, better than a date. Jean rests his head on Marco's shoulder, blushing deeply but still not pulling away. Now would be the time for some kind of heartfelt confession, but instead Jean just sighs. ]

Pretty sure this is the best date ever. [ Just don't tell anyone he said that. ]

[ Oh god how does Marco even deal. He's now also blushing profusely as he tries to find something to reply with, also setting his head on Jean's shoulder. ]

Well, if this is your first date, of course it'll be the best! [ Hehe. Smooth, Marco. ]

[ Still, he closes his eyes, losing himself to the warm sensation of Jean's embrace. Nothing in the world could happen to ruin this moment, and Marco's making sure to make the most of it. ]

Of course it's the best, it's a date with me! [ Jean laughs, burying his face further into Marco's neck because-- god, this is so perfect. Marco being an idiot and Jean being an idiot and neither of them caring because who would? ]

We should go on dates more often. [ Yeah that's a roundabout way of saying something you don't realize you mean, Jean. ]

[ Oh shit did Jean just say that. He so totally just said that oh god. ]

I'd love to go out with you more in the future. [ THERE HE SAID IT. In an indirect way. It still counts right?]

[ God he can just feel Jean burying into his neck and it just feels so good. He'd kill to make this last for eternity. ]

Dates with you are the best, after all.

Damn right. [ Jean mumbles the words into Marco's jacket, his heart fluttering in a way that it really has no right to. It's just Marco. They're just... out on a date. The first of many dates that could end in hugging and kissing and-- wait. ]

Wait. [ Jean sits up straight, eyeing Marco at the sudden realization. It's not his fault you're a loser, Jean. ]

Does this mean we're... dating?

[ Jean you are the biggest of losers how the heck did you reel in a gem like Marco. ]

If that's how you want to put it... [ Blush. ]

Then yeah! We're dating! [ And a smile. The notion of what just transpired still hasn't hit him yet. Because holy crap, they're dating. ]

Holy crap, we're dating. [ Jean would stand and have a proper freak out, but it's so nice in Marco's arms and-- and that's proof, isn't it? Jean wanted more of this so he asked Marco out on more dates and... ]

[ They are totally dating now! Jean's gonna lean back in and press their foreheads together again, the blush on his face a permanent thing now. Maybe laugh a little nervously because holy shit, they're dating. ] That's crazy.

It is, isn't it?

[ He laughs lowly a bit, feeling the warmth of Jean's forehead on his own. ]

It's a thing that's actually happening, and that feels weird, but good, in a strange way. [ He's never done this before, but he can only hope that he's not going to be a massive disappointment. ]

Yeah, it's something else... [ Would now be a good time to kiss? Now when he's so close to Marco's face that he can't see his freckles cause they're out of focus? When he could probably hear Jean choke if he messed up? It'd be okay too, right? It's Marco, after all. ]

Since it's a date, um... I think we should kiss. Just to give it a try. Y'know. If you want to.

[ Well, that catches Marco off-guard, and his cheeks suddenly turn bright red. A kiss? Not that he'd object to it but how do you do it without looking awful? How do you do it without looking like a tool? But nah, it's stupid to worry about those things. After all, they're in private, aren't they? ]

A-a kiss? [ God, why won't words come out right now of all times? ]

S-sure, I mean, uh... [ Marco get a hold of yourself. ]

If you're okay with it, I don't see why not...

I, uh, I want to... [ Finally another chance, Jean! It's not like he has any experience either, maybe if they sorta press their lips together, something'll happen... ] Kiss you, I mean.

[ Jean gives it a shot, bringing an arm up to cradle Marco's neck and sorta... pressing his lips onto Marco's. Yeah, this is going to go about as well as you'd expect. ]

[ Ugh Jean don't do this to him. He brings up his arm as well, placing it gently on Jean's should and slowly putting his hand on the back of Jean's neck. It takes him a while to steel himself, but when jean's lips touch his own he pretty much melts on the inside, near instantly reciprocating with slow, clearly untrained movements. He's never kissed someone before but this somehow feels okay, even if none of them have experience or have never done this before, it feels right and it feels good. It's not long before Marco's grabbing the back of Jean's neck with a bit more force as he becomes a tad more forward with kissing, clearly becoming used to it quickly. ]

[ Marco's better at this than he is-- they'd better not turn that into a challenge or Jean's gonna want to be the best, too. Kissing is-- wow, it's electric and even with sloppy presses and Jean not knowing to do with his hands he lets Marco take the lead and goes with it. He'd let Marco win just this once (and whatever time he wanted to do this again, really.) Besides, if it came to winning and he was losing, then losing was definitely not so bad. There's something about being with Marco, feeling him there, his lips against his, that just makes Jean so stupidly happy that he never wants to stop touching him. Marco makes him feel like he's the only guy in the world. ]

[ Jean just hopes he's not embarrassing himself, cause he's pretty sure he's making some noises that are pretty embarrassing. ]

[ It says a lot when Marco takes the initiative in something, but right now there's nothing holding him back, no one to judge him and no one to tell him otherwise. His brain is starting to catch up with his body and all of a sudden he's so very aware that he's kissing the guy he's had a crush on for months, and it's so very ok with it. So very ok with it in fact that he's going to maybe climb a bit on top of Jean, because screw it if he wasn't getting into it. A lot. Just the sensation of the other teenager's lips on his own was amazing by itself, and the awkward noises and movements were easy to enough to ignore because holy shit, they're actually kissing and it's easily the best thing ever. Maybe he died and went to heaven? Well, whatever happened to him to deserve this, he doesn't really mind. His mind's set on the moment and he couldn't be happier. ]

[ Jean tries, he does, he tries not to groan or whimper but suddenly Marco is practically on top of him and that's great, it's amazing-- having Marco this close is wow Jean can't even think straight. He doesn't have to worry about being embarrassed with Marco, doesn't have to think about what he says or what he does or even how he feels. It's just Marco; on his lips, in his breath, under his hands and Jean is leaning right into him, pulling him closer just because he never wants to risk losing this again. He couldn't bear it. ]

[ It doesn't take long until Marco's repressed feelings over several months are out in full force, because really, there's no way they couldn't be. Marco didn't exactly think much of this date, because it was probably going to result in just a regular outing that'd result in not much. But, turns out he was wrong, and the current moment just proves it. There's nowhere else he'd rather be, and as Jean's embrace tightens around him, he can't help but push him back as gently as he can, without ever separating their lips, so that he's entirely on top of him. Heck, being a calm and collected person, it's rare for him to ever be this proactive, but, in light of the situation, he just can't help it. ]
