[Event] Halloween Dance Plotting Post
The days are growing shorter, the nights growing colder, the trees beginning their annual change from lustrous green to a fiery, golden spectrum that is already beginning to tumble leaf by leaf to line the city’s streets. In short, Ruby City, Autumn is upon us once again. And of course, with Autumn comes Halloween-- A holiday that just begs for attention in a place like this. We’ve had our ups and downs around this time of the year in the past, but that’s no reason to fear its approach, right? Right.
As if to confirm this, one of the city’s own residents, The Doctor(gallifreytotrenzalore), has seen fit to put on a celebration-- Costumes encouraged! On the night of Thursday, October 31, the windows of the Black Stallion Saloon will be well-lit with bright orange and purple-shaded candles, a sure sign that there’s entertainment to be found within.
Those who succumb to the temptation these lights present will be met with quite the sight indeed; The tables that usually litter the pub’s floor have been cleared away, opening up a wide space for any who might choose to dance to the soft, ambient music issuing from the weathered old gramophone set atop a nearby table.
Several more tables have been lined up nearby to serve as an impromptu buffet, stacked high with many different foods all encircling a truly massive punchbowl from which an almost irresistibly pleasant scent issues forth; Those who stray too close may find themselves compelled to ladle themselves a nice tall glass of this fruity concoction… And of course, this being Ruby City, that’s where the real fun begins!
The punch, predictably, has been spiked... Whether by the Doctor himself or by one(or more) of his guests, who’s to say? Moreover… Who’s to say it’s only one or the other? On top of being rampantly alcoholic, the punch has a few extra tricks in store for any who partake. Each glass is liable to produce different effects, so drink carefully! ...Or, don’t.
The Potential Effects of the Punch Are As Follows;
Flirtation- The drinker will find themselves suddenly feeling much more extroverted than usual… Specifically, with the distinct urge to get their flirt on! Even total strangers might spontaneously turn out to be the object of their capricious affections, at least until somebody more receptive(or more appealing) comes along.
Roleplaying- The drinker will, no doubt much to their later chagrin, fully take on the persona of whatever their costume portrays! They'll actually be their costume, including pros and cons. For some, of course, this promises to be nothing but sheer entertainment (We’re looking at you, mister “I thought Sailor Moon would be a fun ironic choice”), but for others, it might prove particularly awkward… Especially once the punch’s effects wear off.
Foot in Mouth- You know that little filter, the one that keeps you from just blurting out whatever happens to be on your mind? Well, the drinker of this glass appears to have lost it. Without any control over what makes it from their mind to their mouth, who knows what sort of secrets may be revealed, or what confessions may be made? Oh, blatant fightmongering and romance-fuel. We love you so.
Mood Swings- This glass should have come with some “Caution” tape; The drinker will experience a sudden, unstoppable surge of emotion! What sort of emotion, be it rage, lust, joy, misery, or something else entirely(Or even a cascading set of multiples) is anyone’s guess. Stand clear!
Trickster Mode- The drinker will experience, to start with, a rather extreme change to their color scheme-- Everything from their hair and skin to their clothing is effected, complete with the addition of some cute new food-themed accessories! On top of the change in appearance, the drinker will also enjoy a change in personality; Tricksters are manic, giggly, and hyperactive, acting as though they’re under the influence of some sort of combined inebriation and sugar high. To top it all off, there’s a nasty hangover/cooldown period as the punch begins to wear off… Have fun with that.
(Punch effects can combine, depending on how many times you take a trip up to that bowl! Just use your best judgment when combining effects, not all five are necessary!)
The party will go on until the early hours of the morning, with plenty of time for everybody to get the full effect of the punch’s sundry spikings… Because surely, one glass isn’t going to be enough, right?
