4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

We kind of didn't have them from when I'm from. [He made a surprise sort of huff.] Really? That's awfully convenient.

[Never the talkative sort, Sesshoumaru has only found himself interested in idly exploring his surroundings. He's never seen buildings like this, and assumes that somehow, through some manner of bewitchment, he's been brought to the continent and away from all he finds familiar.

Of course, anyone would find him far from familiar in these surroundings. Sesshoumaru is not wearing anything at all modern, and in fact he looks as if he's fallen out of Feudal Japan. FUNNILY ENOUGH...

He didn't fall so much as glide down with complete and total poise and grace. Demons of his stature do not fall.

Good luck to anyone who approaches the silver-haired demon with the unimpressed look on his face, glancing up at the clocktower and wondering at its function. The symbols, and those long things affixed by the center...the had to mean something?

Sesshoumaru tended to lose himself to his thoughts at times. It didn't mean he wouldn't notice anyone approaching though.]

Exactly. We have no control who comes here or who stays. {Which is aggravating as hell.} All we can control is how we react.

[To be fair, he has missed her enough these last few days that he doesn’t mind her arms around him. Her questions are a bit of a barrage and he wriggles one arm free to make a calming gesture. Talking isn’t going to be easy if he has to dump endless amounts of information on her.]

All right, if you are from then, then the two of us are from around the same time. It seems this city is able to bring people here from any time it wishes. Even people who know each other might not be from the same time exactly. There are a few young trolls here and it seems they are all from far into the future compared to us. Apart from the young heiress who seems to come from an entire different place altogether

[Di pretends to pout at him at that - can he blame her for wanting all the answers at once? But she sighs and indulges him with a kiss to the tip of his nose as she listens to him explaining, her expression growing increasingly quizzical as he goes on.]

I don't understand. How can they bring people here from different times like that?

[He can see that either she still doesn't believe him, or she hasn't really grasped the concept yet, but...she was trying, so it was okay. He grinned, trying not to tear up. The last time he had seen her, after all...]

[And lo and behold, here comes someone who may be his equal in appearance and elegance, were it not for the fact that Corbin were no demon. He certainly had the air of aristocracy about him, whether imagined or real. Sesshomaru was a bit taller than him, which immediately annoyed him, and those markings and the long white hair added a touch of beauty that he was nearly jealous of. He wasn't sure what to make of the large fur and armor on his shoulder, but the fact that he was missing an arm made Corbin feel as though he had the upper hand.

He approaches the other man (because demons? Surely those don't exist), and ponders over the pointed ears for a moment before speaking.]

[Of all people to expect in this odd place, it wasn't Kain in the least. Not after what he did. But Firion felt more hurt than betrayed, really. There had to be a reason for this man to have attacked him like that.

So, as he made his way to the Clocktower, he also drew his bow, but he didn't cock it just yet. He simply held it for now.]

[Well the man was certainly an arm up on the situation...as far as anatomical symmetry. That's it. And also, he loses points for being anything but a youkai.

Nevertheless, Sesshoumaru does turn his attention to this newcomer who has addressed him. While it is subtle, he is inclining his head in a manner that can be perceived as condescending. It's carefully balanced with poised curiosity.

He doesn't have to speak. His eyes ask the question which is neither impolite, nor entirely well-mannered.

Only slightly. {She continues her walk.} We'll have to stay on foot. I haven't found a motorcycle or any other vehicle yet.

[Corbin can read the expression - his own are also very slight. And he immediately feels disdain for the look he's given in return - the unspoken question gives Sesshomaru a level of arrogance that Corbin himself envies. To ask without speaking...

But he doesn't let his facial expression reflect this, naturally. He does pause, however, to stare back - brief enough to let Sesshomaru know he isn't intimidated.]

I'm afraid the train's let me off at the wrong station. By chance, do you know when the next one is?

And while Laeticia's memories provide her with a quick summary of French history, it is still a vague outline, not something she has seen or experienced.]
