It's the most wonderful tiiiiime of the year. For mistletoe!

Oh no, mistletoe!

Image from http://www.localnomad.com/en/blog/2012/11/26/why-people-kiss-under-the-mistletoe-at-christmas/

SHOOT. Who put that there?! Well, you’re caught - pucker up!

How to Play

  1. Post your character and canon in the subject line
  2. Next person who responds is the one you’re caught under the mistletoe with!
  3. Go as awkward, sweet, or embarrassing as you like! (Quick cheek peck? Full French? Sure! But you have to kiss or the Nargles will get you!)
  4. Comment, Tag, and catch others under the mistletoe. Have fun!

Gratuitously stolen from bakerstreet.

[Conrad probably should have been paying better attention, but when someone's about as short as Hanna--

No, no, kidding. He's taken care to be attentive to such heights as a result, which is why when he's almost jostled into poor Petra, he gently grabs her shoulders in an effort to keep her from being jostled even more.

And then come the mumbled, awkward apologies.]

Sorry-- pardon me, I-- was just--

[ Petra jumps a bit as she's bumped into and steadied and wow hey hold it there. She merely laughs, however. ]

Hey, don't worry about it! It's alright.

[ He hasn't directly called her short, after all. No damage taken! ]

S-still.

[God, this is awkward.]

I mean, if you're fine never mind about it.

[Maybe he can just... back away slowly. Salvage the situation.]

[ She giggles at his shifting, before she catches something in the corner of her eye. Sorry Conrad, she's not going to let you leave just yet. ]

Ah, sorry to ask, but I've seen that thing hanging around various places, what does it mean?

[ Yes, yes she's pointing at that mistletoe. Right above you, kind sir. ]

[His eyes follow her finger up, and--]

Fuck.

That... would be...

[HOW IS THAT EVEN THERE what is his life.]

Mistletoe. It's. A really bizarre tradition-thing-- it's-- [Flustered? Conrad? Never.]

[ She claps her hands together. ]

Another tradition? Like pumpkins for Halloween? What does this one symbolize?

[His health would be damaged by this if he wasn't already dead.]

Kiss. The tradition... Is to kiss. Whoever you're under it with.

[But it's not like it's magical or anything...

Right?]

Nothing? I think.

[He hopes. He'd say he isn't superstitious but he's also a British vampire, so--]

As long as it's... just mistletoe.

Oh. Well... Better safe than sorry, I guess? [ Yeah.... Ok, she's gonna step a bit closer.

And with this distance she realizes he's a good amount of inches taller than her... ]

Just let me know if this isn't okay, alright?

[Daryan hates Christmas tradition and stuff for the most part, but he does like parties. Usually means there's food and booze. These are two things he's totally OK with, and maybe scoping out the occasional hot chick.]

Oh, hey.

[He didn't even notice he was standing a little ways from Petra until now.]

[ Christmas isn't a thing for Petra until now, and she's about as excited as a five year old. The free food and drinks are a good bonus, though. ]

Daryan! Hello!

[ She's even wearing an endearing christmas sweater, complete with gaudy colours and too many figures. It's so, so cute, okay. ]

[my god she is adorable as fricckenfrick--]

'Sup? Also, thought I should tell you there's a weird Christmas-y mess engulfing your torso.

[Points at sweater because good lord. She's lucky she's so cute because otherwise that sweater would make him turn the other way.]

Isn't it nice?

[ She's gonna turn that comment around, ok. ]

I saw them in a lot of picture books, and it was too cute and to pass up so I got one myself. It keeps me warm!

I guess at least you can pull it off or whatever. You enjoyin' the party?

Why, thank you.

Yes! These modern festivities are a lot of fun. I always appreciate free food and drinks!

It's the only reason I even come out to these damn things. Food and booze. [And sometimes the chicks if he's lucky.]

You don't get out much, do you? ["Modern festivities", indeed...]
