There's a nod to go with that shake and a smile of his own, though small, and his grip is tight but not uncomfortable. He notices the others hand seems a little...rubbery in his grasp, but sort of passes it off as nothing due to the nature of the shake being short and quick.

"Well, after I lost my hand I gained this hook instead, so the Moniker came about from that and my reputation."

Sleek brows raise once again at the boys claim and the fierce, looming atmosphere behind it didn't go unnoticed. He'd never quite felt or experienced anything like it before, but it left little room for doubt that the boy was entirely serious. He stood strong in the face of this strange power the boy wielded, even if part of him wanted to shrink back away from it. His confidence was beyond anyone he'd ever met, to the point you could literally feel it. That was impressive indeed!

"Pirate," Lifting his goblet with a roguish smile, "of course. And you, my good Monkey, King of the pirates you say? Afraid I'm not familiar, or rather we don't have a King where I'm from." He takes a swig of his drink.

"Though I can proudly say I was one of the most well known and feared pirates in my realm. There wasn't a man above me."
