1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!

4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.


Scenarios

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

Sora | Kingdom Hearts | Let's try this again

1 - Video

[Sora's barely opened his pocketwatch for the first time and he's already pressed the video button by accident. He doesn't seem to realize it at first though, looking around confused.]

This isn't Traverse Town.

[It's at this point that he actually spots something about the pocketwatch itself that catches his interest. He pushes his face up close to the screen, frowning in puzzlement. They usually had clocks when opened, didn't they? Not screens?]Huh... That's weird.

[At that point, another voice, from another post sounds out of the watch, presumably from another post, and startled, Sora drops it with a yelp. Whoops.]

2 - City Street

[Wherever you are in the city itself, you might see something strange. A boy, streaked in light, literally bouncing off the walls of buildings and houses, almost like a magically-enhanced parkour.

Every once in a while though, he'll land on the ground rather gracefully (without a scratch of fall damage), and the light will fade. And then he'll turn to you, grinning.]

Hi!

[Care to give the new kid directions?]

[ that voice-

he knows that voice...!

Riku fumbles with his watch in sheer shock at hearing Sora's voice. steadying the watch, he activates his own video after Sora finishes with his close up. ]

Sora!

[withoutadoubt]

[And Sora knows that voice too. He brightens instantly.]

Riku?! You're here too?

[He looks around quickly. No, definitely no Riku there. He picks up the watch again and considers it, face falling back into a more puzzled expression.]

Where are you?

[He can see Riku in the watch but that can't be where he actually is.]

Ah- In the city. Are you at the train station?

[ okay, Riku, breathe. he's already jittering with excitement over seeing a (friendly) familiar face. ]

Yeah! Pretty sure I am.

[Since... He just got off a train and all. He pauses and looks around, tilting the watch back a bit unconciously. And hey, if you've ever seen the roof of the Train Station before, well, there it is. And if you haven't, well that sure is what the roof of the train station looks like. A few moments and the watch is tilted back so Sora can look into it again.]

What is this place, anyway?

Ruby City. [ a beat, brief. ] I'm on my way, I'll see you soon.

[ then, as an afterthought, ] Hey Sora, what do you last remember?

[Well, that doesn't tell him much about the place, but Sora isn't too worried about that. He's sure he'll find out more at some point.

The question though makes him pause briefly.]

Well, I was still trying to get back to Traverse Town to check on everybody there.

[Sora, you might need to be more specific than that.]

[ he huffs a bit, more out of amusement than anything. he's beyond relieved to know Sora is there, really. ]

What else was happening?

Well, you told me to be careful? We'd just finished our exam.

[These were all really strange questions to be asking, Riku. Sora was a bit bemused, not quite sure what Riku was looking for.

... oh wait, he sees the perfect opportunity here.]

Speaking of which, how you holding up, Master Riku?

[Is he grinning? Yes, he is grinning.]

[ oh, geeze. Riku's gaze slides away from the video, clearly a little embarrassed at the question. ]

Fine. Been here long enough that I've had even more time to train.

[ eyes shifting up, his shoulders ease. ]

I'm going to close the watch now, alright? I'm almost there.

[He's your best friend, it's his moral obligation to tease you every once in a while. Not to mention he's still thrilled that Riku got named a Master.

Sora nods once.]

Sure. [Then something strikes him as off and he thinks about it for a moment and realizes that, hey wait, didn't they just see each other?] Wait, how long have you been here?

[Of course he might be too late at that point, but... oh well.]

[ well, Riku hears it alright. but that's better left for the whole welcoming committee thing, which Riku would prefer doing in person.

which is about when he'll jog the rest of the way up to the station and inside, spotting Sora immediately. if nothing else, it's a relief to see Sora just the same as he had left him when Riku last saw him two months ago. ]

It's about time you showed up. Late again.

[ceded]

[ He blows past her in a burst of light and speed, and Xion is left windswept and stunned in his wake. She doesn't even realize who it is until he stops and straightens up.

And then she takes a step back, surprise giving way to a blank, pale shock. ]

... Sora?

[withoutadoubt]

[Sora's grin fades when she says his name, replaced with surprised recognition. He hadn't realized who he'd been speaking to either, speeding around as he had been. ]

Uh... yeah, that's me.

[Given where he saw her, it doesn't feel nearly as odd as it probably should that she knows his name. Or odd at all, really.]

You're her, aren't you? The girl I saw?

[ceded]

What?

[ She takes another step back, lowering her chin, defensive and the littlest bit afraid. ]

How could you have seen me? How do you know ... who I am?

[withoutadoubt]

[Sora reaches back to rub the back of his neck awkwardly.]

It's... kind of a long story. I was taking my Mark of Mastery exam and... I think I fell asleep? And I saw you there.

[Not going to mention that Xehanort had been trying to trap him into an endless nightmare of sorts at the time.]

You're someone important, right?

[He feels like she is.]

[ceded]

I...

[ "You're my sister. And I love you."

"You deserve to be here as much as anyone. No matter what."

"Love you. More than anything. More than everything.

I love you." ]

I'm not--

[ The words get gummed up in her throat. The ones that came so easily before - I'm no one, I'm nothing - simply won't come now. Her chest shudders, and it's an effort to swallow down the welter of emotions that's risen within her. ]

... I guess ... you could say that. But ... I'm not sure I should be talking to you.

Huh?

[Sora seems startled at the idea. It doesn't make any sense to him at all.]

Sure you can.

[Why couldn't you?]

[Another familiar voice. And this one is one that he can't say is going to be terribly friendly. But it's still better to be aware of Sora's presence than otherwise, if only so he can have an accurate count of all those present who bear the key.

He isn't about to video himself, however. No sense in giving the game away so soon, and so it is that the answer comes by text.]

It is not Traverse Town, no.

[Huh... text kind of just... appeared on his watch. That's strange. He tilts his head at it in confusion, looks around briefly as if he expects to see whoever might be sending the message, then back at the watch, electing to reply aloud.]

Yeah, I kind of figured that out. I'm pretty sure Traverse Town doesn't have a train.

[He's pretty sure this isn't Twilight Town either.]

Riku said it's called Ruby City, But I don't know anything else besides that.

[It's not Twilight Town, no. Not by a long shot. But that isn't something that would need to be mention even if he'd been aware that Sora had been thinking of it.]

Is there anything you would be particular interested in knowing?

Is Xemnas anon or is Sora just failing a Spot Check? Both are plausible so I thought I'd check XD

[He folds his arm for a moment, giving Xemnas a wonderful view of his shoe]

[Pulling his pocketwatch up to his face again to look closely at it, Sora pulls a bit of a face. Man this guy's cryptic.

And then Gorse rolled another spot check because At that point, he notices that there's actually a name attached to the text. Huh. He should have noticed that sooner. While that by itself isn't enough to cause a reaction by itself, the name he sees? That is.]

Hey, wait a second. What are you doing here?

[You got a lot to answer for >:T]

[Ah, there it is. He'd been wondering, a little, if Sora would catch on to who he was. And now that he has, Xemnas sees little reason to pretend further - when his next answer comes, it's by voice.]

A question I might well be able to ask of you in turn.
