[ Watching as the kid swung up the ladder to land very neatly in front of him, Danny let out a whistle that probably just sounds mocking, but was maybe, possibly, just slightly, genuinely impressed. But then he’s given his explanation. ]

You’re the new Robin…

[ Those few words are a surprising amount of information to take in. They’re enough to wipe the smirk right off his face, and squelch the amusement in his voice.

He’s never met the newest Robin (assuming he was right and this was the current Robin from his universe), he doesn’t even know anything about him really. Only that he exists. The idea that this is the newest Robin, stings in more ways than he would ever admit.
He highly doubts that he is lying though. In fact he’s kicking himself a bit for having not figured it out for himself. Who else from his world but a Bat would be paranoid enough to keep trying to hide their identity in this place, even when wearing civilian clothing? (Admittedly a few other people from what he’s seen, but not many.) And that glare? That was definitely a Bat glare. He knew he’d seen it before. ]

Okay.

[ The reply is flat, and as he looks back down at his book, he goes silent as he thinks over what to say. For a moment it might have seemed like he doesn’t intend to answer at all. ]
