How very strange. It was just like her classmates, exactly the same sort of theft-- though the Field Trip, that was wrong. The game she'd played had been the School Life of Mutual Killing, her sister's pet project-- was it maybe some kind of... other universe? She'd never been much of a sci-fi buff, but she couldn't think of any other explanation for this whole ordeal.
"I'm sorry," she mumbled again, after a long moment. It seemed like the thing to say-- it was easily her most-used phrase. If she wasn't so much of a coward she could have volunteered more about his memories. But... he seemed... so much more stable, now, not to mention guilt-ridden. She didn't want to burden him. That would be her excuse.
