Given that they have only crossed paths on a couple of occasions so far, Sephiroth generally doesn't think that Dante is worth much of his attention. He's a little like Grimmjow, a firey upstart that is overconfident, overpowered and has the desire to prove it whenever given any inkling of an opportunity. Then again, he does appreciate power when he sees it.
He could be as flashy if he really wanted to, or if he had much of a reason to, but considering how long Sephiroth has been in the City especially recently he sees such showboating as pointless. It only puts on a show for the Overseers and then they come to prove that they really have the finger on all the buttons.
Despite the fact that Sephiroth can't remember much of the events leading up to the Sending-attempt, he knows that they did fight and it annoys him that he can't remember past a certain point in their stand off. The fight itself floats somewhere in his recollection and he doesn't really know when it happened either. For all he knows, considering the last event as well, it could have been a dream. Either way his instinct tells him it didn't end well and for this reason he'll avoid Dante until he's managed to piece together enough to know how it went.

Besides, it makes perfect sense for Sephiroth's memories to be a bit squiffed after what happened. If need be we'll figure out the details later on.
