Don't think you're getting out of this mister. So it's kind of weird for Lily, but she's actually starting to care about this emotionally-stunted douchecanoe???

School days biases aside, she's not heartless; actually, she's pretty empathetic once you get past her Gryffindor "find an opinion and stick with it" stubbornness. She can tell he's got some serious baggage, and all because he was a good and loyal guy towards not only her, which is weird enough, but also her son who she's never met, so it's a lot to get emotionally caught up with. It's hard to keep up the school stubbornness when you're the only party clinging to it, she's really starting to an ally or would-be friend rather than a quasi-enemy.
