[They do indeed thrive off of attention, they just love it. At least in Dante's case it's all bravado and flamboyance without the whole... going to wear you as a skin suit and do terrible things in general. Not that Isaac knew that, unfortunately.]

You could, if you don't like her much. [A grand, nonchalant shrug. Up to you, pal.] Who? Don't really have a who, or a why. You're right on the whole "they" thing but as to what's the point? Beats me. They show up every now and then, out in the city or just on the watches. By the way, check your pockets, you should have one.

[It runs in the family.]

As far as freedom goes, well, 'they' don't give a shit one way or another. Far as I've seen. Of course they don't have to worry too much about anyone getting too out of hand. We're on a chunk of rock floating in a void, there's only so far you can go. And even if you do leave the city then there's the monsters to deal with.

[Did you think he was serious about a vacation? Because he wasn't.]

I'm just sparing myself the headache of listening to you whining about it. The quicker you get to the part where you understand you're stuck here, the better. As for the rest, well, that's up to you. I don't give a damn one way or another.

[If he wanted to be placid, that was on him, if he wanted to cause a fuss for the powers that be well all the better. Dante had just been through this song and dance enough times to be annoyed with it.

There probably aren't any mirrors, it's a coffee shop not a bar, and the lady running the place is actually quite sweet and chipper. Also not a demon, unlike your new friend.]
