It's a sunny week, but still cooler than it has been, showing a definite downward trend in temperatures. Still pleasant enough for those used to mild climates, holding at around 66F/19C during the day and dropping lower at night. The occasional rain showers always seem inconveniently timed for whenever you want to leave the house.
City News
The rumbling movement under the city has stopped and the fauna appears to be behaving normally. Or, as normally as it might be expected to.
Along the path to the eastern beach the native tree spirits are starting to reclaim the track cleared through the woods, leaving some sections of it blocked off. The path can still currently be followed, but there may be sections missing. This will continue until the path is entirely lost unless somebody steps in, either diplomatically or otherwise.
The general store is still stocking a disproportionate amount of pumpkins of various sizes and the library is being very insistent about giving the city residents spooky stories to read. Sorry, did you want to study joinery? Have a Lovecraftian horror instead, you'll like it! While the Night Mares may still be on the minds of many, those long-term residents are well aware that October tends towards being a bumpy ride. If they start getting a bit jumpier over things that seem inconsequential (a ghost whispering too close to their ear, or looking at the river at just the wrong time) who could really blame them?
NPC activity appears to be up, and.. well, Temper and his kin don't seem all too pleased to have company. What this might mean is currently up for debate, but one thing is sure - they don't view themselves as cut from the same cloth.
Finally, The Emporium is open for requests and requests will close on the 24th.

Current and Upcoming Events
Do we have an event for Halloween? Of course we do! We'd hate to disappoint you. This year's Halloween will be covered by a player-run event from our lovely Misa, who plays Alice Liddell and Morrigan Aensland. There will be more information on that as it approaches and we hope that you'll all be able to get involved in some way.
In other news, we are still working to roll out the shiny new metaplot written up by our dear mod Luc. We're still very excited about the direction that the game will go in once it's fully instituted and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed plotting it. There will be more NPCs introduced over the remainder of the year (you didn't think there would just be three..?) and then the games can really begin.
Miscellaneous
The Activity Check is currently up and will run until the 9th, when the Warning List will be made available and PMs sent to anyone who has yet to check in. There's no penalty for being on this list, it just gives you a little extra time and a bump in case you forgot! We know that this month has been a rough one for many of you, so if you have any problem with making activity please let us know.
In other news, the CR meme is available, don't be shy about tagging around! There might be something there to catch your interest. The October test drive is also open and there are a few folks in there who haven't yet been tagged! Please make them feel welcome :D
