Vriska stood her ground, but instead of a smart comeback, instead of a sharp retort--instead of anything, her jaw locked and she met Kanaya's stare, brow furrowed in dark confusion.
On some level, Vriska--slowly--began to realise Kanaya was serious. Not that she'd thought Kanaya wasn't being serious before--but not serious in a way that actually applied to her. She still wasn't entirely convinced--she just wasn't that easily killed! Vriska Serket couldn't just die, after all--she was simply too lucky. And too powerful. And too good.
But on another level--
Was Kanaya admitting she had missed her?
Under normal circumstances, Vriska would have been absolutely elated--well, of course Kanaya missed her, but the thrill of getting her to admit it--! Even now, there was still a flutter of excitement--only now it was paired with something almost like apprehension.
Almost.
Either way, of the two--
"........ Kanaya, are you admitting you missed me?"
Oh NO. (Sorry for the delay oops)
