February Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our <href="http://rubycity-ooc.dreamwidth.org/tag/event">event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!
Sebastian Michaelis | Kuroshitsuji
Sebastian stepped off the train, paused and glanced over his shoulder with a frown as wind blew black hair into his face. A gloved hand reached up to shove it aside as he watched the locomotive pull out. Odd was one way to put it.
Casting his senses out, he didn't feel Ciel around (though there were plenty of other powers). But he should. The lack had him uneasy, though only a disapproving look around might give that away. The demon butler walked away from where he'd been dropped off, reading the signs with some bemusement as reality set in. Unless this was a trick by those damned Reapers, there was a whole new world to explore.
And yet there was so much to do. Just in case the young Earl showed up to ruin his fun. Contingencies; he needed a base of opperations that would satisfy the boy, and work to support said household.
Wildcard
[Make your own adventure!]
Sort of had to
There was really no point in pulling out his own cellphone, he already figured it wouldn't work. His ears perked as there was suddenly a person behind him, probably reading the signs too. He glanced over his shoulders.
"Oh uh... sorry, I can move."
Yesssssssssss
Ears and tail. So very cute. He very nearly reached out to rub one, but forced his attention back to what the boy said.
"No, no need. You're not in the way." And too small to be a bother, but he was too aware of manners to add that. Yet.
no subject
"Ah, did you... just get here too?"
no subject
But only for a minute before he pulled back, just a little embarrassed as remembering he really shouldn't have done that. "Just a few minutes ago. Are you alone?"
no subject
That... that was a new one. He wished he could say it was the first time an older man did something like that. His tail frizzed and his ears stood on end.
How could he touch his ears like that! He cleared his throat and took a not-so-subtle step back to put space between them.
The "alone" question put him on edge.
"Uh..." his ears bent back and he looked around for places to escape if needed. He wished more than ever he knew where he was.
"I um... yes..."
no subject
"Please forgive my forwardness."
A pause, though he held the bow.
"If it is acceptable to you, I would be happy to be of assistance. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a place to live, and I'm a fair cook."
no subject
Was he finally kidnapped? Wouldn't Natsuo and Youji have noticed? Oh no! What if something had happened to them? He gulped and his fists clenched. His stomach was rolling, were they alright? This man didn't seem to be anymore aware of what was going on than he was. At least, he supposed, they could be confused together.
"Um... alright, it's uh, nice to meet you. I'm Aoyagi Ritsuka, who are you?"
no subject
He straightened when the boy - Ritsuka, introduced himself and agreed to his proposal. He smiled with pleasure and gave another (much smaller) bow. "Sebastian Michaelis. Butler to the Phantomhive family - though it appears I am the first to arrive from that household."
Straightening once more, he clapped once, briskly, and started off. "Now if you will follow me..."
no subject
His ears perked when he suddenly had to catch up with the older man who was suddenly off and away.
"Do you even know where you're going, Michaelis-san?"
no subject
"I took the liberty of memorizing that little map provided. I'm also handy at finding my way regardless of where I am." And because how could he possibly resist, he added a little wink. "I'm simply one hell of a butler."
no subject
He was grateful, at least, that Sebastian was competent, he could handle the... odd comments. Soubi had said much cheesier things than this guy... Kio-san was pretty bad in saying cheesy things too, come to think of it. Maybe it was an adult thing.
Oh good lord, help him, he hoped not.
"Uh... that's... nice." He figured he needed to say something, not very good at all this. He was still rather raw from what happened back home, not entirely in the mood to talk but knowing he had to at the moment. He swallowed and tried not to think about it. He'd have to save his thoughts for later.
"Do you expect the rest of your..." what did he call it? "Household to come soon?" what was small talk and how did he achieve it?
no subject
...In fact he was, with Ciel.
Sebastian let his gaze move around, studying each building as they passed for signs of inhabitants and possibilities of getting it up to Phantomhive standards.
Ritsuka didn't need to chatter endlessly if he didn't want to, Sebastian was satisfied the cat...boy... the child was willing to follow him.
"It is inevitable. Even if only the young master arrives, I am more than capable of providing for his needs." Even if said young master was a demanding little shit he was looking forward to devouring the soul of.
no subject
He paused when Sebastian mentioned the "young master" and providing for him. He never met someone with a butler, only rich families had things like that.
He honestly was at a loss of what to say, should he ask about this master? He called him a young master so-
"How old is your young master?"
no subject
Ah, of course Ritsuka wanted to know about his master.
"The Earl Ciel Phantomhive is twelve years of age."
He'd have said more, but a house caught his eye and he paused, studying it closer before turning from the street to walk up, expecting the boy to continue to follow him.
no subject
"Ah... we're the same age," he said more to himself than to Sebastian as he gazed at all the surrounding houses.
"Is there something about this house?" he asked.
no subject
On his wanderings he noticed a young man who seemed lost and decided to approach them. "Sir, do you need any help?" he greeted as he approached the young man. He did his best trying not to look threatening, knowing that military uniforms can be off putting.
no subject
"Don't most people?" But the smile was there, teasing at his lips. "I wasn't expecting to see a member of the militia here - perhaps it is you who needs aid?"
wildcard
He takes a moment to look around the train station before brushing his hair neatly aside and lifting his eyepatch. He has no idea if the demon is actually there but where's the harm in trying?]
Sebastian. Come and find me.
no subject
Of course he kept out of immediate sight once he arrived, just looking at Ciel for a moment. Sizing him up. The dress told him plenty, which was a bonus. Only then did he step out and walk over before bending in a bow.]
Welcome to the city, my Lord. The house is prepared for your pleasure.
no subject
mealmaster. By the time he gets there, and steps out from where he's hiding, Ciel has his arms crossed and looks cross. In fact, once he straightens out of the bow, Ciel throws the dress at him.]
You're getting slow, Sebastian. What city exactly is it?
no subject
Sebastian caught the dress and folded it carefully over an arm, smile not fading one bit.]
Yes, young master. This is Ruby City, of no connection to England, nor any place I have heard of. Simply a pocket dimension, if you wish to think of it that way.
Tea?
no subject
A pocket dimension? [Never heard of it. Your lessons are apparently lacking, Sebastian. Or that's what Ciel will assume because it's clearly Sebastian's fault.]
Fine.
no subject
Sebastian sighed at the doubt, but turned at the acceptance of his question and started leading the way off the platform and to the house he'd set up.]
Indeed, young Lord. This is a place outside of normal space, which brings in people from various worlds and times. Take, for example, ourselves. The fact you still have this dress means you are from slightly behind myself, for where I stand from we have already given your aunt a proper burial, you have yet to live through it in full.
[Why yes. He did indeed go into lecture mode. At least he's found some decent teas...]
no subject
That shouldn't even be possible. [No comments about how a demon being bound to a twelve year old would be considered impossible too.]
