Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

Hang on, it'll be helpful if we knew where the other was from first. And what happened before the train pulled up here.

[Background information would be helpful. Could also help him narrow down what sort of demons have worked their magic.]

[Yuuta nodded and automatically inclined his head.]

I'm sorry. My name is Yuuta. I was on the train to go to university when it suddenly ended up here. I don't recall switching trains or anything else causing me to get onto a different route.

[Erin nods, then hesitates, then inclines his head back, remembering when he met Shin'ichi's family.]

Erin. On the train back from visiting me aunts, actually. Must've fell asleep. Woke up in that train there and got here not long before you did.

[He reached and adjusted his hat, looking around]

Where d'you reckon we are in the world? Doesn't seem like home. Doesn't seem too much like any other city I've been in.

That is odd.

[He would typically say that something supernatural was going on, but not many people believed in magic and that. It would be better not to mention it just yet.]

No, I don't recognize anything either... It seems to be European in general, like one of those old-fashioned villages or towns where they hold onto the turn of the century look for tourists.

[He snickers a little. Definitely for tourists. He'd participated a few times as a fortune teller or apothecary as a favor to this friend or that friend.]

Lovin' how the world sees a lot of us as backwards country types who've not heard of the internet.

Oh, no, I didn't mean it like that!

[Way to put his foot into his mouth.]

Traditions are good and if they help you pay the bills...

[Do just let him die in mortification.]

I'm teasin' you. Have they not jokes in Japan?

[Another loud clap of thunder booms over them and Erin pays it no mind, staring down at a map that he spots]

Looks like there's a few citizens here. At least it's not totally abandoned.

Oh.

[Yup, just let him die. He doesn't like how the storm seems to be getting worse, though. He goes over to Erin and looks at the map as well.]

Good. Hopefully they will know more about what is going on.

Have you found the pocketwatch yet? I've heard it ringin' in my pocket a few times already and some voices filtering through but haven't really chatted them up.

[Storms? Old things for him. Erin keeps his eyes on the map.]

Pocket...?

[He reaches into his pocket and finds the watch he mentioned.]

It's a communication device. It looks like it's capable of various media, like a smart phone. We might want to look onto here.

[Storms were nothing for him, save for loud thunder. They had a whole season dedicated to showers and drizzles in Japan.]

What? Like an iPhone? Why not just let us keep our mobiles, then?

[Erin shakes his head and looks up and down the platform. He couldn't sense anything too dangerous as of yet]

Who knows? With suddenly taking us from home, on a mysterious train, not having our own phones shouldn't be all that shocking.

[He didn't sense anything either, which made him all the more suspicious.]

All right. Can't figure out too much from just standing about, eh?

[When they start walking, he just needs to ask.]

Oi, how's me Japanese soundin'?

No, we cannot.

[He gives him a bit of an amused look.]

I should ask how my English accent compares to a native.

[He grins at him]

When I see an English native, I'll point him in your direction, then.

[He pauses, thinking over what he knows about accents.]

Irish?

[He laughs a little]

But I suppose not the rest of the world knows of ah...how friendly we are toward each other.

Well, I have not studied much British or Irish history... Though I do know of some basic facts and stereotypes?

But I have a lot more free time now that I am in college. I'll look it up once we get back home.

Things are all right now. Doesn't stop us from pullin' their leg once in a while.

[He shrugs it off because honestly, no one actually cared.]

[He will have to look into this particular area of history, then.]

Nothin' to worry about for now. We've got bigger things to look at.

[Erin looks around. Seems simple enough, like any other village he'd been to. With some of the stranger characters walking around.]

That is something from 'My Little Pony'. What kind of world are we in?

[He moves slightly to be able to protect the other one if anything happens. Mortals, after all.]

Not sure. Can't say I've hit me head somewhere because you're seein' it too.

[His fingers twitch for the sutras he has in his pocket, something he always made sure to keep in his pockets.]

There are people here as well. Maybe they know something.
