August Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!
Madame de Pompadour || Doctor Who || 8-8
Reinette was quite sure she should be dead, and more importantly, that this was not heaven nor hell. She continued to walk the streets, gazing at those around her. With memories of another, as well as with her encounter with Rose, she realized that most of those around her were dressed in 20th century clothing. Was she in the future? What was happening?
For all her questions, Reinette let nothing show on her face, a lifetime as a courtier and mistress to the king taught her well how to school her face and manner.
She kept walking until she realized there was another set of footsteps behind her and no matter where she turned, what path she took, the sound did not disappear. Reinette frowned, only for a moment, before stopping suddenly and turning to gaze at whomever had been following her all this time. She should have been used to it, she supposed, but the fact that she should be dead was making this all very unsettling.
"If you are endeavoring to be my traveling companion, I would suggest introducing yourself," she said with neither malice nor eagerness, keeping her tone as calm as her expression.

"H'lo lady, I's Ca... Makalaure Canafinwe." He pronounces his proper name carefully, since he asked, and even manages a bow before edging closer to her again. "Your dress is very pretty!"
no subject
"And you are quite the pretty child," she smiled as she pushed back a strand of his messy hair. She'd fix that in a moment.
"Now then, little Canafinwe, have you been following me this entire time to tell me how pretty my dress is? I daresay, your parents must be quite worried about you."
no subject
"Nuh uh, Cano wanted to give you this - a pretty lady should have a crown! And Cano's parents aren't here..."
sniffle
no subject
"No tears now, tears have their time and place, but now is neither of those times."
She held his cheek.
"Let's fix you up. If you are to be my traveling companion, can't have you about looking a mess."
no subject
"Cano will be brave and not cry. Where's we travelling to?"
no subject
"There's a good boy," she smiled as she undid the strap in his hair. "Now then, as to where we're traveling," she had to ensure that she maintained her composure. A child was depending on her, she couldn't let herself panic or show worry. Instead, she gently combed her fingers through his hair, gently undoing any tangles.
"Well, for the moment, we're not going anywhere until we fix your appearance."

"It was not my intention to do so. However, should a name be required, you may call me Xemnas."
no subject
At his mention of not intending to be her travel companion, she has to wonder why he was following her.
"And you may call me Madame de Pompadour," she offered back simply. "For someone who does not intend on being my traveling companion, you and I have much of the same path," it was as much as she was going to comment on his following her without putting him in an awkward position.
no subject
"But it is perhaps no surprise. Even here there are only so many ways one may pass from one place to another and I apologize for having given you cause to worry that I might have ill intentions."
Which isn't to say that he's not above such things, but at the moment, she means very little to him, save as another of the various people who have come to the City.
no subject
"Reinette?" She asked looking slightly surprised. But then again maybe her mind was playing tricks on her.
no subject
"You look very well, but a greeting to announce yourself when becoming a traveling companion is the proper protocol."

"I'm afraid, Rose, that I have reached the end of my path. It was a short road, only a few years after the Doctor left," she offered in all honesty. She had waited, but it was not meant to be. "My vessel of arrival is unknown to me."
no subject
Not that she thought much about it these days. She was just settling for a moment, exploring the area, learning more about the other Doctors while keeping her distance from the one she knew. He had dumped her on the beach after all.
"But here you are, yeah? And he's around here too," she informed. "So is his TARDIS."

"Just a nightmare, Reinette, nothing to afraid of."

"Hello to you too, Madame de Pompadour..."
He ran a hand through his hair, trying to regain his composure. Blimey the woman could still snog him silly, he thought.
no subject
However her own amusement was a mere breath as her brows creased in worry.
"How..." she should be dead. Did that mean... the Doctor was dead as well? "Surely not," she whispered as she held his cheek. "What monsters can bring a woman back from the dead, Doctor?"
no subject
"Dead. Riiiiiiiiight, yeaaaaaaaaaah. You were...well, yeah. I mean, no. I mean, I have no idea how I got here either."

couldn't help myself
That was as good an explanation as anything else. Especially for her, for whom time had no real meaning. She could open up holes in time easily. Had done so. Would?
"I have a few names. Bad Wolf. The Galaxy Eater. The Moment. I rather like the Moment."
Sadly, I don't know the Moment.
Poor thing.
She hoped whatever monster was plaguing Rose, the Doctor would remedy soon enough.
"I see," she offered as she tried to take in whatever was happening to Rose. "And what does 'the Moment' wish of me, then, to follow in silence?"
it's okay, I don't mind her thinking Rose is bonkers 8D
The Moment took a couple steps towards Reinette then looked around and found something to sit on. Something happening to be a couple old crates left in the street but it worked and the Moment didn't really mind getting messy. Wasn't that was weapons tended to do?
"I was curious. I know most of the Doctors companions, from when he was old and young again and then younger and then older and young again. I don't know much about you."
no subject
"I never became the Doctor's companion, though he asked it of me. It was not meant to be, I'm afraid." And she was truly sorry for it, as she had wanted to see the stars closer.... Well, such was life, she could not allow herself to focus on what could have been, only what was.
no subject
"He thought of you like one though." The Moment said it so simply, as if it were obvious. The Doctor had wanted Reinette to go with him, if only for a little while. "He couldn't have kept you though, you were needed in your own time. So many things wouldn't have happened without you."
