Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

Tall and slender, but she's a dead weight, and she cries in pain at the movement, the shivers almost violent in their force. She chokes on the water and coughs, whimpering softly in pain and confusion, the shivers still wracking her form.

She shows no signs of regaining coherence.

Skuld moved her to keep her head out of the water and kept running warm water into the tub, draining out the old, so that it would warm her. She didn't know what else to do and moved from foot to foot, fretting.

It takes a long, long time, but slowly, the shivers become less violent, the blue of her lips starting to blush back to normal, the dead white starting to pink back up.

She whimpers often, soft cries of pain as blood starts to flow to areas that have been cut off, white going to red, and her extremeties starting to blister, but fortunately, not badly. Eventually her eyes flicker and start to open.

"T...Turu? W-where?"

She breathed out, relieved. "Oh good! You're alive!" She said, clapping her hands. "I knew I could heal you! After all, I am a genius!"

Welcome to your first impression of the young Goddess. Have fun with that.

"W-who? Turu? Where... where is... where is my husband?"

"I don't know! I found you alone at the station! Are you okay now?"

[icediving]

"Who... who are you?" Blue eyes struggle to focus, and Earwen still shivers. "Where am I?"

[manga_goddess_skuld]

"I'm Skuld, Goddess second class, limited license. And you're in my bathroom. Well, the bathing chamber I share with my stupid sister Urd while we're here."

[icediving]

"Sk...skuld? I... I was... the ice... I fell... Itarildë! My d-daughter, where... where is my daughter?"

"There was no ice where I found you. Once you're warmed up, I can show you. Do you want m to get you dry clothing? I could build a space heater." Maybe. If she found the parts.

[icediving]

Her brows furrow in exhausted confusion.

"No...ice? This... this is Mandos, then?" She is still shivering, though less the violent tremors of before and more an intermittent wracking movement.

"Dry... yes... please?"

"This is Ruby City. I'll go get you clothing!" she dashed out of the room, ripped around hunting for stuff, finally ran out to the stores. She needed to trade for clothing. Not like anything Skuld could wear would fit her.

She came back with a long dress and flowing head scarf. The girl could regenerate her own underthings, right? Skuld sometimes forgot that non-Goddesses couldn't do all the things she could.

"Here!" she said, offering it. "If you get out of the tub, I can dry you."

"Ruby?" She blinks in confusion, still shivering. When Skuld comes back, however, she has recovered enough to sit, rather than lie, although she has her arms wrapped around herself and is still shivering.

"Out? Is... have you a towel?"

She reached over and drained the tub. Then she set the clothes down somewhere dry raised her arms and started singing a spell. The ground under her lit slightly as she sang. the light grew until it was under the both of them. Warm air came up from the light, drying the water clinging to the girl. Skuld closed her hands and the water went down the drain. She sat down hard on the floor and waved to the clothing pile. "New clothes."

Elenwe watches wide-eyed and silent, and she stumbles clumsily from the bathtub and bows deeply as still shivering fingers work to pick up the clothes and dress.

"Lady, I thank you."

She grinned a bit. "It's all in a day's work for a Goddess!" she said happily. Tea, Bell would offer her tea, right? "Do you want tea?"

"A goddess?" Elenwe says a little blankly, and then nods slowly. "Tea? I... I suppose so. Please, goddess, do you know what happened to my daughter? She fell..." Elenwe remembers the horror, the way Italride reached for her, the terror in her eyes, the slide of the ice, and the burning bite of the water and she shudders.

"Yes. Please. Tea would be nice."

She bit her lip, not sure how to help, not sure what else to do. She fled the room to make the tea when she was asked for it, shaking slightly. She pt the flame up too high in her rush, and poured the water before it was quite warm enough, and forgot sugar. She rushed back in with the warm but not hot, tea. "Here."

Elenwe is weeping softly when she returns, arms wrapped around herself as if to hold a child close. She lifts her head when Skuld returns and manages a small smile.

"Thank you, lady. Forgive me, but my daughter means everything to me."

She gave a small shy nod, not sure what else to do or say. She handed over the tea. "Um... she's probably fine, just.. you know... not here...?" she offered, weakly.

Elenwe takes a deep breath and manages a nod and a shaky smile.

"Yes. I ... I am sure Turukano got her out in time. They...they will fine."

"Good. Th...there we go then."

Elenwe smiles waterly at her and then pulls herself up, gathering her dignity about her, and her voice only wavers a little.

"So. My lord husband is not here, nor my daughter, so I will trust that the Valar have them safely in their keeping. What can you tell me of where I am?"

"This place is called Ruby City. We came here by train, and I swear, one day I will get around to modifying it. Getting back on seems to do nothing. I went to go see about dismantling it for parts a while back... and my stupid big sister stepped off of it, and I kind of forgot, what with trying not to get electrocuted again."
