...MOD APPLICATIONS...

Actual representation of the mod team
Hello everyone!
Yep, we are here again. Unfortunately, due to RL commitments, both Kitten and Duck have had to step out of the mod shoes. As this leaves it with only Fi-mod and Mint to hold the fort, we are opening up mod applications again. It has been well-proven that this game can't be run with only two mods, and we are moving on this at what might seem an odd time of the month due to the undeniable fact that things are slipping, there is stuff to get done, and we need all hands on deck!
Outlined below is a list of potential tasks that a person might need to perform. Don't worry - if you're working with us, you won't be handling all this by yourself. Some familiarity with Dreamwidth coding would be beneficial, but we can walk you through it.
Page Updates
This comes into play mainly after app cycles, but also in the case of username/player handle changes or contact detail changes. Lists that need an eye kept on them are the Reservations page, Taken Characters page, Player Contact and Residences page, as well as the Bestiary and Locations should any new entries be added by the players. The Weather page requires updating weekly, and adding new tags also falls into this duty.
Application Cycles
When it comes to applications we very often appreciate a second or third opinion before said applications are passed. This is particularly useful when it's a canon that one person knows well, while another mod may not.
Activity Checks
This will entail checking up on links given for activity to make sure that they pass muster, and informing the player if they do not. You will not be required to post the activity check post itself, unless circumstances mean that no one else can, or you decide you would like to take this on as your responsibility. There is also a Google Document folder where the spreadsheet for AC is kept, which you will get access to.
Events
While you won't be required to actually write out events (unless you want to!), we would definitely appreciate ideas being pitched and assistance where events require some level of mod involvement (ie for RNGs).
NPCs
No one is going to be asked to pick up an NPC if they don't want to take on that extra responsibility, but we won't say 'no' to it either. More info will be given regarding NPCs should someone wish to pick one up. At the moment, there is one available NPC - Dil Blackwood.
There are other odds and ends which might come up as things go on, but no one is going to be asked to do anything that they don't feel comfortable with, or for any longer than they feel okay doing it.
If you feel like you might be up to the task, please fill in the below form and post it here. All comments will be screened, but if you need to ask questions first then please do. It doesn't matter how long you have been in the game, or how much modding experience you've had. This is open to everyone.
Name:
Age (over 18):
Characters played:
Timezone:
Best method of contact:
Previous modding experience (if any):
Which of the tasks listed above would you be comfortable with?
To a 90 or 100 percent level.
Which of the tasks listed above would you be willing to take a shot at?
You don't need to be able to do everything, but is there anything you're not sure of that you would want to attempt?
Which of the tasks listed above would you not be comfortable with?
This is important! We need to know what you wouldn't want to do so that we know what we can expect from you.
Would you like to pick up an NPC?:
Due to upcoming changes to the NPCs, this is something that can be discussed after these apps are processed.
Anything else?
If you applied last time and would like to throw your hat in the ring again, please do! The form is the same, so you can copy/paste.
APPLICATIONS WILL CLOSE ON NOVEMBER 30TH
