[James inclined his head at the name.]

Just James is fine. As for this place, well...it's home now.

[There's a pause before he starts his mantra in a bored voice. It's obvious he's done this a million times previously.]

Ruby City. You've been brought here against your will and you can't go home. Feel free to live in any of the unused apartments or houses you find. There's a clinic, a bar and many other shops for your needs and everything is free. I own a coffee shop and bar myself with spare rooms should you need them.

[He stops, done for now, and sets his broom to hover so he can sit down upon it. Smiling, James' voice goes back to it's initial cheeriness.] Any questions, just ask.

[fairdeal]

[A smile appears as he hears James' explanation, and he waits for him to finish before speaking.] I see I am not the first newcomer you've come across.

[masked_stag]

Oh no. [James chuckled.] I've been doing these introductions for...a long time. [His broom slowly flies backwards towards the nearest wall so its owner can lean against it, James thinking about the past for a moment.]

[fairdeal]

[Gold doesn't show any surprise at that, he's seen enough magic in his lifetime, and different enough kinds, to not be impressed by a flying broom. He bows his head slightly at James.]

Then I will bother you no further about it. I think I will do fine finding what I want to know on my own.

[masked_stag]

[James jumped out of his reverie and off his broom at the same time.] Oh, it's no bother. I enjoy meeting the new people that come here. I just hate the monotony of explaining you're stuck.

Besides, you must be thirsty after your trip. [There's a small smirk that wasn't there before. Gold might want to be careful with that.]

[fairdeal]

I'm sure most people have more questions than I.

[Gold shoots him a quizzical look at the strange change of topic.] Not really. Though if I was, I take it I could just help myself to some water for free, isn't that right?

[masked_stag]

Usually yes. I'm assuming your world has some sort of magic as most tend to stare at my entrances.

[James nodded.] Of course. But I always find water quite bland. Isn't there anything you'd prefer?

[fairdeal]

Yes, where I come from people are quite used to magic and its dealings.

Not particularly. Is there anything you suggest?

[masked_stag]

Shame. Muggle reactions are usually the most fun.

I have plenty of suggestions. Why don't we take a tour a find out?

[fairdeal]

Very well, James. Lead the way.

[Alright, curiosity will get the best of him this time.] And what is a muggle?

[masked_stag]

[Grabbing his broom, James started out of the station at a slow pace. He'd noticed the cane early on and wasn't sure how fast Gold would be.]

A muggle is a person who can't do magic. But so far only my world seems to use the term.

[fairdeal]

[Gold walks just as fast as anyone else, albeit with a very slight limp. The cane is just for extra swag points.]

It's the first time I hear the word too. Though where I come from anyone could do magic, if only they wish to learn.

[masked_stag]

[James speeds up slightly to walk alongside him.]

Interesting. On my world, you're either born with magic or you're not. Usually your parents have it and it's been passed down but that's not always the case.

[fairdeal]

Well, I suppose when you put it like that there are those who are more sensible to it. It's much easier to learn when you have such ability. [He pauses thoughtfully] However, many prefer to stay away from it.

[masked_stag]

Well there are types of dark magic which you're taught to stay away from. But I suppose that's common sense unless you're trying to take over the world. [James chuckled, amused he can laugh about his own misfortune with a stranger, just as his shop came into view.]

Here we are. The place I call home.

[fairdeal]

Your kind of magic intrigues me. I hope you feel so inclined to tell me more about it someday.

[Gold glances up at the shop] A lovely place, however I have no money with me.

[masked_stag]

I don't see why not. Come in and I'll tell you more.

[James laughed again.] Everything here's free, remember? That includes the stuff in here. [And he opened the door, holding it open for Gold.]

[fairdeal]

Ah, I forgot. That will take some getting used to.

[Gold walks in, waiting for James before walking over to the counter.] Do you serve coffee?

[masked_stag]

The Coffee Joint wouldn't be a good name if I didn't.

[James walked behind the counter, taking out a cup, a saucer and his wand.] How do you take it?

[fairdeal]

[Oh, he can tell a wand when he sees one, even if only fairies use them where he's from. He leans closer to the counter, watching intently.] Black, no sugar.

[masked_stag]

[A boring order but an easy one. He taps the cup with his wand and mutters under his breath, then the coffee pours out of his wand into the cup.]

Here you go. Enjoy.

[fairdeal]

Interesting. [He brings the cup to his lips, gives it a tentative sip, then sets it down as he waits for it to cool down a little.] Can I ask for something else?

[masked_stag]

Of course. What would you like?

[fairdeal]

[Give him a few seconds of silence as he thinks of a request.]

Tea. English breakfast, with skimmed milk and two spoons of sugar.

[masked_stag]

[James nodded and brought out another cup and saucer, setting them on the counter. Sadly, this trick wouldn't be as good. He had yet to perfect tea from his wand and would have to do it more old fashioned.

Muttering some words again, suddenly everything started to fly. The teabag went into the cup, the water followed from his wand, hot and already boiled just as milk poured from a jug, and then the sugar pot danced over and heaved two spoonfuls into the tea and stirred. James flicked his wand again and everything tidied up.]
