Y'know, I used that line on someone once. Bit of a disappointment when I had to explain the joke.

[Dirk's at the base of the light pole, one hand lifted to shade his eyes despite the pointed sunglasses he's wearing. He tilts his head slightly, as if trying to get a better look at the other boy.]

Somethin' like that line, anyway.

[Jack cranes his neck to look down at the new stranger before he stands from his perch, draping his staff over his shoulders and letting his hands dangle from where he crossed them over it. Without much of a word, he jumps down, using a little breeze to soften his fall.]

I think I used it on Bunny once. Guy was never one for jokes much.

[He steps back as Jack lands, but doesn't seem overly concerned about that little display of what could only be called magic.]

Bunny? His parents can't have liked him much if he got a name like that.

[He gives a small shrug.]

Well, his full name's E. Aster Bunnymund, but he looks more like a kangaroo if you ask me.

[.. Waaait a second.

One of Dirk's eyes squints half-shut behind his shades and for a moment he looks a bit incredulous.]

E. Aster? As in 'Easter'? You must be shittin' me. What does that make you?

No shitting. That's ol' Cottontail himself.

[Jack merely grins and inclines his head, giving a mock bow.]

Jack Frost.

[Dirk has always known all kinds of people could turn up here but he never thought of something like that.]

That'll be 'the' Jack Frost, spirit of winter, so on and all that good stuff, yeah? I've heard of you.

[Smirk.]

I'm Dirk Strider.

That's me. You might also know me as Old Man Winter or Father Frost but as you can see, I'm a bit young for a guy pushing three hundred and nineteen.

[At least his sense of humor is still intact. That's always a good sign.]
