TEST-DRIVE MEME

Maybe you've considered appping a new character but you're not sure how well they would adjust to the in-game scenario? Well, here's a chance to give it a try!
• Post with a character journal you'd like to voicetest or you've considered apping to Ruby City. Feel free to play them as newcomers or as if they've been here for a while - the setting is your own choice.
•Respond to other threads with new characters or with characters who are already in the game.
• Explore different interactions, find castmates, develop possible CR - anything you want, as long as you have fun!
Rin Tohsaka || Fate/Zero || Why would you willingly submit yourself to this?
[ There's a small girl who can't be any older than eight frantically talking into the watch. She looks scared and why shouldn't she be? She's all alone in a strange new place without her parents, blah blah blah.
Really, it's a lot easier to get things if people pity you a little more. Don't mind her playing that up for a bit. ]

This is someone else he hadn't expected to see, but after Claudia and Caren, he can't really be surprised. Who's next? Tokiomi? His father?]
Rin Tohsaka. I can hear you.
[Of course, because he's there in person. Skulking around as usual and appearing without a sound. But in his defense, his apartment isn't far from the train station.]
no subject
Oh, so you're the one responsible for this?! I knew I couldn't trust you, stupid Kirei! Abducting little girls and sneaking up on them whenever they call out for help!
You should be ashamed of yourself, but I guess that's impossible since you're already too shameful to add any more shame to it!
no subject
I'm not responsible for our current predicament. We've both been abducted. This is a pocket dimension outside of time and space in which we are trapped.
It wasn't my intention to "sneak up" on you. [It's not his fault if you're not perceptive enough.] I'm merely offering my assistance.
no subject
[ She has every reason to be wary of him even now, but she treats him more like he's her personal punching bag. ]
That's what you get for leaving me all my own. I bet this place took you captive to punish for you child neglect.
no subject
[He pauses.]
I at no point have left you on your own. [You're not his responsibility. Which is good, because he has no desire to look after children.]
But if that's so, what do you believe you are being punished for?
no subject
[ Kicking the ground with her toes, her gaze falls down. ] Yes, yes you did. You said you had some business to tend to with the Church and my father's corpse!
no subject
Your father's... [Another pause from Kirei. That's interesting. Although she looks no different, she must come from another time, like Claudia and Caren. He doesn't feel the least amount of concern over Tokiomi's death, but he does wonder how he was killed.] I see. This must be more of the Fifth Magic at work. I was not aware of your father's death. Before I was brought here, he was still alive.
I did tell you there was a distinct possibility that he would die. If I had business to attend to, I am sure it was important.
no subject
[ Now she's just outright shrieking at him. ] Both of them are gone and now all I have is stupid you!
[ Just... soak up all of this little girl anguish, Kirei. ]
no subject
I told you that was impossible, but I'm certain I did nothing to cause your father's death. I can assure you of that.
Both of them? [Then she's orphaned? He had known Tokiomi's death was very possible, but his wife had died as well? He wouldn't have expected that. And, according to Rin's words, he must be her guardian now.] So you've lost your mother as well. What a shame. [Never have the words "what a shame" sounded more wooden and lifeless.]
no subject
[ Her mood falters when the seriousness of the situation begins to sink in. Kirei doesn't remember any of this which means any answers she wants about the Fourth Holy Grail War will remain unanswered. ]
It doesn't matter... They're dead and you're the one my father left responsible for me. If you don't want to do that, then fine. I can figure it out here on my own.
no subject
And now I'm your sole guardian. [Being left in care of a child... It wouldn't be his ideal situation. No wonder he'd left. He hadn't been interested in raising his own child.]
As I said, I am offering my assistance. [Not that he's exactly thrilled about it. He might as well. It's his duty, after all.] This is no place for a child.
no subject
[ That surprises even her as she looks up towards him. The fear that was present before returns with the concept that Kirei was going to take care of her. ]
I said it doesn't matter. I can do it on my own!
no subject
But why would anyone be afraid of Kirei?]
I doubt that's true. There are many dangers in the city, and you're ill-equipped to handle them.
no subject
[ Okay, so she can't even finish her statement. What good will she be on her own? ]
no subject
[Kirei can finish her statement, no problem.]
I'm sure he did, but if even your father could be caught unawares, someone of much less skill should be more careful. Perhaps you should learn from his example.
This is not the War, but there are hazards enough. Monsters and other hostile beings you will not be able to defend yourself against. Would you really rather be left on your own?
[With this question he looks as if he might consider complying with her wishes. Which might be true, but more likely, he just wants to see her reaction.]
no subject
[ Go on and feed the pint-sized Tohsaka to a monster. It might make you smile. ]
I want to see!
no subject
I have no reason to lie to you.
[Look, kid, he doesn't really care about you.]
But if you insist, I can show you.
no subject
I want to see. So you have no choice, but to show me if you ever want me to believe you. Ever.
no subject
All right. We'll make our way to the woods, as that's the best place to find them during the day. Follow me.
[Claudia wouldn't approve of this, but Claudia isn't here, and Kirei doesn't care. He leads the way to the station, then down the railroad tracks, toward the forest.]

[For a moment, he wonders if he can persuade Minako to take this kid in too...]

Huh, some kind of weird mutt is talking to me. Shoosh, puppy. I'm trying to talk to someone who doesn't look like a streetrat.
Re: video
[What a brat. Was every kid who got brought here this bratty?]
I'M NOT A DOG!

You aren't? Then what are you?
