Test Drive Meme!

Test Drive Meme

That's right! A test drive meme! This meme serves several purpsoes!

- Test drive a new muse! -- If you are considering apping a new character to Ruby City, you can comment with them here to try their voice out. Others (currently played characters and other potential characters) can respond. The same deal as usual. Post ICly. Your character can be newly arrived, or you can treat the thread as though they've been in the city for a long while. It's up to you!

- Test drive DreamWidth! -- We realize DreamWidth is new, so feel free to jump in, even with your current RC characters to start a thread and get accustomed to how DreamWidth feels to RP on. But please remember, any interaction from this meme will not count towards in-game CR. What happens in memes stays in memes.

- Stop the withdrawal! -- We anticipate that the move will slow down posting between our announcement of moving and the opening of the DreamWidth communities. So if you need your fix of your RC characters, toss 'em here for fun and games.
renaissancerevenge: Ezio walking through the dispersed crowd of nobles in the streets [Florence] (Fleeing/Walking/Ignoring)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-13 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
[For most of the trip, Ezio was out cold, but on the last few miles of the journey, he had woken up, paranoid that this was some Templar trick, some sort of trap, and then almost panicked when he could not find a way off of whatever this device was. It didn't seem like anything Leonardo would invent (because he probably could, given the chance and design). Ezio practically leaped through the train's opening doors to get to something he knew - solid terra firma. Getting his footing and making certain his hood was up, the assassino kept his guard up as he observed his surroundings. Quiet, run down buildings. Possibly a town ransacked by the templars? The bastardi seemed rather ruthless on anyone they encountered when it came to trying to get what they wanted. It made Ezio both angry and sick.

After a moment and a few cautious steps, he finally decided to call out, voice heavy with the Italian accent.]
Hello? Is there anyone there?

[personal profile] broswagonist 2012-01-14 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
[The train station was probably one of the places Souji frequented the most in town whenever he wasn't either out scavenging or repairing the house he'd built for himself. He knew that he wouldn't be able to get onto the train, heck, never even really caught the thing in time, but still. There was just some strong connection to it and besides that, every now and then he came across a newcomer that was just as lost as he had been when he'd stepped off the train and really, he could sympathize with them so he didn't mind giving a helping hand.

And today was one of those days when he just so happened to come across someone new.
] Yeah.

[It was a rather short answer in reply to the question, but it would do as he made his way toward the man, stopping a few feet away, tilting his head though his expression was nearly void of emotion as he observed him, and waited to see what else he would say- He'd rather let him come with a barrage of questions now rather than trying and failing to explain should he just go off without taking another's feelings on the situation into account.]
renaissancerevenge: Ezio pointing, perhaps calling someone out. (Its time to d-d-d-duel!/Pointy)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-14 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hood up and looking to the side Souji came from, Ezio eyed him suspiciously. He was dressed in a manner Ezio wasn't accustomed to. He didn't look threatening for the most part, but that didn't mean he could be trusted. Everything Ezio had known growing up was different now.]

Where is this place? Are you the one who has brought me here? [Though he was in a completely different place than where he had been in Firenze didn't mean he had to sound unsure of himself.]

[personal profile] broswagonist 2012-01-15 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Souji on the other hand was quite relaxed, one hand in the pocket of his coat, the other hanging down by his side. Newcomers had a tendency to be a little skittish, so the less threatening he looked the better, he figured.] It's called Ruby City. Don't know exactly where it's located though...

[Not a part of his world, or anyone else's that was for sure. At the second question he shook his head.] No, I was brought here in the same manner myself.
renaissancerevenge: Arms crossed and looking away. (Stubborn/not listening anymore)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-15 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Ezio regarded his posture, wondering if he was hiding anything in that pocket with his unseen hand. Ruby City? There was no sense in asking where it was if this person didn't know either. The only thing Ezio seemed certain about it was that it wasn't in Italy.]

You were brought by that same contraption as well then? [He gestured to the train behind him before taking a couple of cautious steps towards the other man. If he indicated any sort of harm...There was a soft schnk of the mechanism, but Ezio froze. He couldn't feel the hidden blade. He knew Leonardo fixed it, but a glance down towards his wrist confirmed that the blade was indeed missing.]

Merda.

[personal profile] broswagonist 2012-01-15 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
It's called a train. [He offered a tiny smile then. It was no mystery that this place had a tendency to haul people in from all times and worlds, so someone not knowing what it was didn't really strike him as strange.] And yes, I was. [And then a tiny nod, in further confirmation that he had indeed been brought here the same way.]

.... [Smile fading away then, he blinked a few times at that word he didn't understand, and the way the other glanced down toward his wrist.] .... Is something wrong?
renaissancerevenge: Ezio walking through the dispersed crowd of nobles in the streets [Florence] (Fleeing/Walking/Ignoring)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-15 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
A train. Forgive me, for I have never seen or heard of one before. [He wondered how people would react to such a device, which was faster than a carriage with foaming horses tied to her front!]

There is something I am missing. [He looked to the train, wondering if maybe it had...somehow come off on there? The train itself was strange, so maybe it had even stranger...talents that he didn't know about. Ezio looks like he's about to attempt to climb back on the vehicle, intending to search for his missing blade.]

[personal profile] broswagonist 2012-01-15 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Something missing? Well, that certainly didn't sound good. He couldn't remember seeing anything about items going missing before, and he'd had all of his things when he arrived... Maybe he should make a note of asking the next time he decided to speak to people over the network.]

Do you think you could have just dropped it somewhere? [Of course, he wouldn't put it past this place to take things away from people... Considering how it was already taking people away from their normal lives and all.] I could help you look if you want.

[He glanced toward the train then... If whatever he'd lost was on there still... He wondered if it would even let them on to look or if it would just roll out the minute they took a step toward doing so...]
renaissancerevenge: Ezio looking rather agitated and to the side. (Pissy/Agitated/stfupls)

Notif fail - I did not get one.

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-15 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
[He shakes his head, and then pulled at the door to try and get back on the train. ...The door didn't budge. Grunting with effort, Ezio pulled at it, teeth gritting in frustration. The train apparently wasn't going to allow him back onto it. He pounded the window with his hands once before trying to see in. It was dark, and he couldn't see anything.]

There is no way I could drop it, as it was attached mechanically to my arm. [He took a step away from the train, glaring at it from underneath the hood.]

[personal profile] broswagonist 2012-01-15 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Souji couldn't really say he was surprised that the train was not letting him back on. When he had arrived the train had rolled out so fast that he'd barely even been aware of it before it was gone.] That would make it difficult.

[He tilted his head again then.]

... Is it something you really need? [He wasn't about to tell him to just give up on it. It might as well be something he really needed. If not though, he would suggest looking into if someone could remake it for him or at least create something similar.]
renaissancerevenge: Ezio walking through the dispersed crowd of nobles in the streets [Florence] (Arguing/You shittin' me)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-15 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
It was my father's blade. I had just gotten it back from a friend who had repaired it for me. [Nope, Ezio wasn't happy about this. This could be a nasty Templar trick, but how could they have found out about his hidden blade, let alone take it off of him without him knowing? He cursed something in Italian under his breath.]

My enemies could be waiting here for me. [He needed to get something to defend himself with because after a quick check, his dagger, sword and throwing knives were missing as well. What the hell kind of place was this?] I need to find a blacksmith so that I may rearm myself.

[personal profile] broswagonist 2012-01-15 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
... Oh. [Important then. Things passed down in families usually were, or so he thought. Never having had anything passed down to him or much of a relationship with his father, he couldn't really understand.]

... I doubt that. [He couldn't be 100% certain considering how he didn't know who his enemies were, but...]

Most people here have been brought here against their will. [He figured he might as well try to explain that much.] So if your enemies would lie in wait in a place where they'd be trapped too.. [He pauses, thoughtfully and brings a hand to his chin.] Then you have very dedicated enemies.

[He smiles ever so slightly then, showing that that was indeed an attempt at humor even if he's not laughing or anything.]
renaissancerevenge: Ezio looking rather agitated and to the side. (Pissy/Agitated/stfupls)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-16 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
The Templars are dedicated. [But the man had a point. They'd be trapped in this place too, just like him. Maybe they were unarmed as well? But that was something he really didn't want to take a chance at.]

I would still like to find a blacksmith, per favore. It is better to be safe, especially in a place I know nothing about.

[personal profile] broswagonist 2012-01-16 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[He supposed he could understand the need; he'd prefer to arm himself too, had he suspected any presence of shadows, Izanami or heck, even Adachi here. Thinking about it, lips drawn in a tight line, he sighs after a moment. He'd received a sword for Christmas but before that he'd just had a golf club laying around just in case, but honestly, he didn't think there even was a blacksmith here.]

I'm not entirely sure there is one... [Other than that the best bet was...]

You could possibly scavenge though. Anything in shops that aren't tended to is generally free for the taking.
renaissancerevenge: Arms crossed and looking away. (Stubborn/not listening anymore)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-16 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, he supposed he could do that. Nothing stopped him from looting the corspes of guards he fended off. The only difference was that there wasn't a dead body this time.]

You would not happen to have a map, would you? [He took a few steps off of the platform and towards Souji. He didn't exactly care if he came off as threatening or not - he couldn't efficiently kill anyone anyways without his hidden blade. He had gotten better at fighting - his skirmish with Vieri de'Pazzi and his gang a few weeks ago helped with that - and could probably still be pretty lethal in hand to hand combat.] If I am to be stuck here, I will need to better familiarize myself with my surroundings.

[Looking up, he scanned the higher buildings. No eagles in sight, but a few of the buildings would be tall enough for him to scale and get a better look maybe. There looked to be a church, and a clock tower of some kind. This definitely wasn't Italy anymore.]
morethanpasta: (Default)

Late, but how could I have reisted a new arrival from the homeland? XD

[personal profile] morethanpasta 2012-01-15 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Feliciano had found his way to the train station more by chance than anything else. He had been wandering around town, going wherever his flight of fancy took him and then... He had found himself here. He pouted. This place was no favorite of his.

Imagine his surprise when he didn't find abandoned and that voice... Feliciano tilted his head to the side, curious and becoming ever curioser as he took note of the man's clothing. Old clothing. Very, very old.]

Hello. I'm here! [He replied in Italian, trying to test his suspicion. His heart skipped in excitement. Another Italian, that would be wonderful!]
renaissancerevenge: Ezio pointing, perhaps calling someone out. (Its time to d-d-d-duel!/Pointy)

Whoo-hoo!

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-16 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ezio turned with his shoulder cape flourishing a little behind him, as he looked at the newcomer. His own hood was up, covering his face that watched Feliciano warily. He didn't know where he was, didn't know who was a Templar and who wasn't... He straightened up, hands at his sides.

When he answered it, was in Italian as well, in an older dialect that hadn't been used since the Renaissance period.]

Buonasera... What city is this? [He gestured to the town that was around the station platform he was currently standing on.]
morethanpasta: (smile)

[personal profile] morethanpasta 2012-01-17 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Feliciano blinked. The man's old-fashioned speech shouldn't have come as a surprise after he had already noted his clothing, but it jarred him anyway. Encountering this stranger was like stepping into his own past, only that he had been a little boy the last time people spoke and dressed like this.

He pursed his lips in concentration, it took some effort to switch back to that old dialect he had nearly forgotten. When he spoke, his Renaissance Italian was a bit clumsy, a bit stilted, but smooth enough and with a distinctly Venecian dialect.]

This city is called Ruby City. I'm sorry, but you're far from home, signore, and as to why, that's a long story. [He smiled, though he winced inwardly. The entire fantastic tale was hard enough to accept for someone from his time, but for someone from the Renaissance? Explanations wouldn't be fun.] I'm Feliciano Vargas.
renaissancerevenge: Actually looking like he's paying attention for a change (Listening/Watching)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-17 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[He seemed surprised by something, though Ezio didn't know what. Looking over Feliciano, he noted the odd manner of dress and tilted his head. What kind of clothes were those? No armor or any sort, so he wasn't a warrior it seemed... When the other Italian finally spoke, the words seemed rather off, like a foreigner trying to say them. It was Italian, but it looked like he was having trouble saying some of the words.]

Ruby City? I have not heard of such a city in Italia. [His boots thumped soundly on the platform as he stepped across and off of it onto the street before it. Just Feliciano Vargas? He supposed there was no noble house he came from like himself. Perhaps there were no noble houses in this city, which was probably true at the state of the architecture around him.] I am Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Son of Giovanni Auditore, who was a well-known banker. Perhaps you have heard of him?

I need to return home, back to Firenze immediately. I had work I must tend to and I have no time to waste here.
morethanpasta: (serious face)

[personal profile] morethanpasta 2012-01-18 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh goodness, but it hurt... He hadn't expected it to hurt like this. Feliciano smiled slightly, but it was a wistful smile.]

I know of the great families of Firenze, but I don't know them as well as I should...

[His heart stung at the unwelcome reminder. On the rare occasions he mused about the childhood that had been denied to him, he mourned the lost chance of growing up with his brother and the damage their forced separation had caused their brotherly bond. That was depressing enough, without contemplating the full extent of their birthright having been denied to them, growing up in foreign lands as servants to greater powers than themselves. They had been raised well and lovingly, him more well and Romano more lovingly, but they had been denied the chance to live on their own land and know their people as nations should.]

You are far from home, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. What I'm going to tell you will be hard to believe for you. I don't blame you if you don't believe me. You have been kidnapped from your home and taken to a faraway place. I'm a captive, too. Our captors, they keep us locked up in this city, no way to escape, no explanation why.
renaissancerevenge: Ezio pointing, perhaps calling someone out. (Its time to d-d-d-duel!/Pointy)

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-18 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ezio watched him carefully, and relaxed a little bit. Feliciano didn't appear to be a Templar and from another quick glance around what he could see of the city, there were none of their flags in sight. Looking back at the other Italian, he noted the slight change in face. The news that he was told was a bit of a shock.]

Kidnapped? By whom? [Maybe this was a Templar trick. They had managed to outdo the Assassins after all and taken Ezio out of the country. But why that and not kill him? He could just easily return back to Florence and continue his work. Uncle Mario and Claudia would worry sick about him...]

Can I get back if I take this...this thing? [He gestured at the smoking train behind him, who's doors at this point had shut.]
morethanpasta: (Default)

[personal profile] morethanpasta 2012-01-18 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, he had taken this surprisingly well. Feliciano was quite pleased and truly, proud, of his Italian countryman. Chances were he wouldn't react that calmly if Feli told him about fantastical creatures and strangers from different times and planets locked up here, but he had no intention to do that right away.

He tilted his head to the side and pursed his lips as he inspected the train, humming softly all the while.]

I don't know... I've never tried it. I was told there is no way to escape the city, but I don't know if anyone has tried to get back onto the train. That is what it's called, a train. But I don't think our captors would be happy about an escape attempt. They're cruel.
renaissancerevenge: Ezio looking rather agitated and to the side. (Pissy/Agitated/stfupls)

If I do anything with him, I might have to play him as further through the game.

[personal profile] renaissancerevenge 2012-01-19 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
[But his mind was racing, even if he looked cool and collected on the outside. The Templars were running freely in Italy and he was stuck here. Who would keep them in line? His revenge for his father and brothers would never come to pass...how could he avenge them here? Ezio gritted his teeth hard, hands curling into fists at his sides.]

I cannot stay here. I have business I must attend to back in Firenze! [Forget the train now, there was no way back?] There must be a way back - if this contraption brought me here it can take me back! Or if that is somehow not possible, it should be possible to get over the walls!
