Test Drive Meme!
That's right! A test drive meme! This meme serves several purpsoes!
- Test drive a new muse! -- If you are considering apping a new character to Ruby City, you can comment with them here to try their voice out. Others (currently played characters and other potential characters) can respond. The same deal as usual. Post ICly. Your character can be newly arrived, or you can treat the thread as though they've been in the city for a long while. It's up to you!
- Test drive DreamWidth! -- We realize DreamWidth is new, so feel free to jump in, even with your current RC characters to start a thread and get accustomed to how DreamWidth feels to RP on. But please remember, any interaction from this meme will not count towards in-game CR. What happens in memes stays in memes.
- Stop the withdrawal! -- We anticipate that the move will slow down posting between our announcement of moving and the opening of the DreamWidth communities. So if you need your fix of your RC characters, toss 'em here for fun and games.

After a moment and a few cautious steps, he finally decided to call out, voice heavy with the Italian accent.] Hello? Is there anyone there?
no subject
And today was one of those days when he just so happened to come across someone new.] Yeah.
[It was a rather short answer in reply to the question, but it would do as he made his way toward the man, stopping a few feet away, tilting his head though his expression was nearly void of emotion as he observed him, and waited to see what else he would say- He'd rather let him come with a barrage of questions now rather than trying and failing to explain should he just go off without taking another's feelings on the situation into account.]

Where is this place? Are you the one who has brought me here? [Though he was in a completely different place than where he had been in Firenze didn't mean he had to sound unsure of himself.]
no subject
[Not a part of his world, or anyone else's that was for sure. At the second question he shook his head.] No, I was brought here in the same manner myself.
no subject
You were brought by that same contraption as well then? [He gestured to the train behind him before taking a couple of cautious steps towards the other man. If he indicated any sort of harm...There was a soft schnk of the mechanism, but Ezio froze. He couldn't feel the hidden blade. He knew Leonardo fixed it, but a glance down towards his wrist confirmed that the blade was indeed missing.]
Merda.
no subject
.... [Smile fading away then, he blinked a few times at that word he didn't understand, and the way the other glanced down toward his wrist.] .... Is something wrong?
no subject
There is something I am missing. [He looked to the train, wondering if maybe it had...somehow come off on there? The train itself was strange, so maybe it had even stranger...talents that he didn't know about. Ezio looks like he's about to attempt to climb back on the vehicle, intending to search for his missing blade.]
no subject
Do you think you could have just dropped it somewhere? [Of course, he wouldn't put it past this place to take things away from people... Considering how it was already taking people away from their normal lives and all.] I could help you look if you want.
[He glanced toward the train then... If whatever he'd lost was on there still... He wondered if it would even let them on to look or if it would just roll out the minute they took a step toward doing so...]
Notif fail - I did not get one.
There is no way I could drop it, as it was attached mechanically to my arm. [He took a step away from the train, glaring at it from underneath the hood.]
no subject
[He tilted his head again then.]
... Is it something you really need? [He wasn't about to tell him to just give up on it. It might as well be something he really needed. If not though, he would suggest looking into if someone could remake it for him or at least create something similar.]
no subject
My enemies could be waiting here for me. [He needed to get something to defend himself with because after a quick check, his dagger, sword and throwing knives were missing as well. What the hell kind of place was this?] I need to find a blacksmith so that I may rearm myself.
no subject
... I doubt that. [He couldn't be 100% certain considering how he didn't know who his enemies were, but...]
Most people here have been brought here against their will. [He figured he might as well try to explain that much.] So if your enemies would lie in wait in a place where they'd be trapped too.. [He pauses, thoughtfully and brings a hand to his chin.] Then you have very dedicated enemies.
[He smiles ever so slightly then, showing that that was indeed an attempt at humor even if he's not laughing or anything.]
no subject
I would still like to find a blacksmith, per favore. It is better to be safe, especially in a place I know nothing about.
no subject
I'm not entirely sure there is one... [Other than that the best bet was...]
You could possibly scavenge though. Anything in shops that aren't tended to is generally free for the taking.
no subject
You would not happen to have a map, would you? [He took a few steps off of the platform and towards Souji. He didn't exactly care if he came off as threatening or not - he couldn't efficiently kill anyone anyways without his hidden blade. He had gotten better at fighting - his skirmish with Vieri de'Pazzi and his gang a few weeks ago helped with that - and could probably still be pretty lethal in hand to hand combat.] If I am to be stuck here, I will need to better familiarize myself with my surroundings.
[Looking up, he scanned the higher buildings. No eagles in sight, but a few of the buildings would be tall enough for him to scale and get a better look maybe. There looked to be a church, and a clock tower of some kind. This definitely wasn't Italy anymore.]
Late, but how could I have reisted a new arrival from the homeland? XD
Imagine his surprise when he didn't find abandoned and that voice... Feliciano tilted his head to the side, curious and becoming ever curioser as he took note of the man's clothing. Old clothing. Very, very old.]
Hello. I'm here! [He replied in Italian, trying to test his suspicion. His heart skipped in excitement. Another Italian, that would be wonderful!]
Whoo-hoo!
When he answered it, was in Italian as well, in an older dialect that hadn't been used since the Renaissance period.]
Buonasera... What city is this? [He gestured to the town that was around the station platform he was currently standing on.]
no subject
He pursed his lips in concentration, it took some effort to switch back to that old dialect he had nearly forgotten. When he spoke, his Renaissance Italian was a bit clumsy, a bit stilted, but smooth enough and with a distinctly Venecian dialect.]
This city is called Ruby City. I'm sorry, but you're far from home, signore, and as to why, that's a long story. [He smiled, though he winced inwardly. The entire fantastic tale was hard enough to accept for someone from his time, but for someone from the Renaissance? Explanations wouldn't be fun.] I'm Feliciano Vargas.
no subject
Ruby City? I have not heard of such a city in Italia. [His boots thumped soundly on the platform as he stepped across and off of it onto the street before it. Just Feliciano Vargas? He supposed there was no noble house he came from like himself. Perhaps there were no noble houses in this city, which was probably true at the state of the architecture around him.] I am Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Son of Giovanni Auditore, who was a well-known banker. Perhaps you have heard of him?
I need to return home, back to Firenze immediately. I had work I must tend to and I have no time to waste here.
no subject
I know of the great families of Firenze, but I don't know them as well as I should...
[His heart stung at the unwelcome reminder. On the rare occasions he mused about the childhood that had been denied to him, he mourned the lost chance of growing up with his brother and the damage their forced separation had caused their brotherly bond. That was depressing enough, without contemplating the full extent of their birthright having been denied to them, growing up in foreign lands as servants to greater powers than themselves. They had been raised well and lovingly, him more well and Romano more lovingly, but they had been denied the chance to live on their own land and know their people as nations should.]
You are far from home, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. What I'm going to tell you will be hard to believe for you. I don't blame you if you don't believe me. You have been kidnapped from your home and taken to a faraway place. I'm a captive, too. Our captors, they keep us locked up in this city, no way to escape, no explanation why.
no subject
Kidnapped? By whom? [Maybe this was a Templar trick. They had managed to outdo the Assassins after all and taken Ezio out of the country. But why that and not kill him? He could just easily return back to Florence and continue his work. Uncle Mario and Claudia would worry sick about him...]
Can I get back if I take this...this thing? [He gestured at the smoking train behind him, who's doors at this point had shut.]
no subject
He tilted his head to the side and pursed his lips as he inspected the train, humming softly all the while.]
I don't know... I've never tried it. I was told there is no way to escape the city, but I don't know if anyone has tried to get back onto the train. That is what it's called, a train. But I don't think our captors would be happy about an escape attempt. They're cruel.
If I do anything with him, I might have to play him as further through the game.
I cannot stay here. I have business I must attend to back in Firenze! [Forget the train now, there was no way back?] There must be a way back - if this contraption brought me here it can take me back! Or if that is somehow not possible, it should be possible to get over the walls!
