TEST-DRIVE MEME

Maybe you've considered appping a new character but you're not sure how well they would adjust to the in-game scenario? Well, here's a chance to give it a try!
• Post with a character journal you'd like to voicetest or you've considered apping to Ruby City. Feel free to play them as newcomers or as if they've been here for a while - the setting is your own choice.
•Respond to other threads with new characters or with characters who are already in the game.
• Explore different interactions, find castmates, develop possible CR - anything you want, as long as you have fun!

[A laugh escapes him, it was genuine, he's enjoying the act and the good company. The shuffling stops for a moment as he seems to mull over something.]
No, I doubt it would make it to America... A memory game? How do you play?
[The shuffling begins again]
Oh, if you really feel like doing, pick something up we both can enjoy, I'd hate for you to bring something you could not indulge in. But really, you don't have to.

[Usually he likes to text while he walks, but this was a pleasant enough distraction. It wasn't often that he was able to engage in conversation, especially since he arrived here.]
It requires several television sets and enough recorded material to work with. I set them up in a way so that I may observe all of them at a certain standing point in my living room. They're all on at once, of course, then I stop one television set, recite what comes next, turn it back on and see if I'm right or not.
[Making a soft hum as he stops mid step, then backing up to peek into a shop he was about to pass by.]
I realize how that may sound, of course, but it does what is needed.
['Richard' will hear a little ring as Sherlock steps into the shop.]
You didn't have to offer me a room, this is the least I can do. Just from the sound of your voice I can tell you are a man of finer things, so I will try and not disappoint. Given my sobriety this may be a challenge... but perhaps I can improvise.

[Knowing Jim he would try it with multiple languages...]
I think it sounds brilliant, actually! I bet that takes a lot of skill.
[He goes quiet for a moment to listen to what he's hearing on the other side of the watch.]
I can brew some tea, do you drink tea?

[Ah. He clears his throat then, growing quiet for a few seconds.]
Just... a trick I've learned. [Finished lamely. With the offer of tea he seems to have made up his mind on what to get.]
Yes, yes I do.
[While he prefers coffee, he could not say no to tea. Inherited British thing.]
I'll let you go then, Richard. I need to run this errand and then I shall be there shortly. Provided I do not get... distracted along the way, it's been known to happen.
