TEST-DRIVE MEME

Maybe you've considered appping a new character but you're not sure how well they would adjust to the in-game scenario? Well, here's a chance to give it a try!
• Post with a character journal you'd like to voicetest or you've considered apping to Ruby City. Feel free to play them as newcomers or as if they've been here for a while - the setting is your own choice.
•Respond to other threads with new characters or with characters who are already in the game.
• Explore different interactions, find castmates, develop possible CR - anything you want, as long as you have fun!
Mondo Oowada | Dangan Ronpa (possible chapter 2 spoilers?)
Fucking two showers.
So how about you get the fucking balls to show yourself and feel responsible for ruining our boiled water? Don't worry, I will try to keep my fists in my pockets to not give you a good beating. Just return the handle to turn it on and things will go smoothly between the two of us.
[Believe me when I tell you he's trying to sound less violent than usual.]

Will Parry & Kirjava | His Dark Materials
Kirjava never strays too far from him, always coming back to him every couple of minutes, but also dodges the hell away from other people if they even come remotely near to touching her. Daemon are kind of really damn particular about this kind of thing, after all. Neither of them will be referencing the watch, because Will is paranoid at best and stubborn at worst. He doesn't know what it does yet, so.

sherlock holmes ll elementary [text/action]
[He is currently outside the building he had taken as his own, staring up as the smoke curled and drifted from his bedroom window. Well, a bedroom. Sherlock currently lived alone, but he had occupied each and every spare room with certain hobbies or had given them unique purposes. The one that had been on fire happened to be where he chose to sleep when he felt like sleeping.
He had hoped to catch a nap after his experiment went wrong. But... that will not be happening, until he could find someone kind enough to lend him a room. So he scratches at the scruff of his chin, pondering just what he should do exactly, squinting down at the mass text he sent to the city, wondering if he'll get any bites. Or... perhaps someone may get attracted by the plume of smoke and come his way?
All he could do is wait.]
[ooc: a quick translation for his text, since this particular Sherlock likes to make up his own text short hand? for convenience safe, even though it's often unreadable; anyone have a spare room? in case it wasn't clear i had an accident. leave a voice message i will talk to you later, curtains are on fire. got to go.]

Shilo Wallace [ Repo! The Genetic Opera ]
Is there no rest for the downtrodden? ]
Hello?
[ She takes careful steps to the train door and hops onto the platform and it is then that a small object drops from her possession - a watch?
She fiddles with it until it's clear that it's some sort of communicator - rudimentary in appearance, but similar to the one she's used all her life.
With a small click, she activates the video function. It can't hurt to try, right?
Yet, as she speaks, she takes it to herself to take a look around. ]

Katherine ✧ Guardians of Childhood
But she does so desperately need to get home, so she makes quick work of figuring out the little pocketwatch she's found among her belongings. It isn't hers, or at least, she didn't have it on her person before waking up on the train. It certainly isn't any of North's handiwork, anyhow.
When she flicks on the video it's much to her surprise, and she nearly drops the watch.]

Napoleon "Nate" Viipra | Original Character
So he steps out of the train, setting his hands on his hips and looking around. First, to the left, then, to the right. And a huff trough his nose.]
Well. Ssshit.
Kiritsugu "Kerry" Emiya | Fate/zero
That question aside, he appraised his surroudings, trying not to shiver too much in the cold breeze. His orange vest did little to help in these conditions so he stuffed his hands in his pockets to keep them warm. This is when he found...whatever he found. It was small and round and fit into the palm of his hand. Opening it, he accidently hit the voice control.]
What is this thing? [He mused to himself, exiting the train station to look around and call out loud.] Hello? Is anyone there? [He hoped he wasn't calling more zombies to his position.]

Jane Crocker | Homestuck
Nope. Never licking alien lollipops ever again.
Had that happened? It did? Well no. She's going to repress it and question how it is that she's found her way to a train station when she's...pretty sure that there isn't anything like this back home.
Or...well, as subjectively home as her "home" can be.]
Well, this doesn't look like any of our worlds...
[She frowns, reaching into her pocket when she realizes that there's something unfamiliar there and...well. That's a watch. Unbeknownst to her, it's broadcasting.]
This isn't helpful. Hmm...
no subject
Instantly there's a squirming kind of uncertainty in his stomach. God, please let her be from a point in time at least close to his so this doesn't have to be horrendously awkward.]

manaka sajyou → fate/prototype
[...Of course, that dress doesn't do much to hide the strange, tattoo-like symbol on her chest, or the fact that there's a thin wound at its center where she was pierced all the way through her body. If she turned around to show her back, the injury would be visible there as well. She is, of course, completely unconcerned with this deathblow, as well as the fact that her new dress has already been stained with some of her blood.]
I was wondering, do our hosts take requests? [There's no sarcasm or scorn by the way she refers to her kidnappers.] There's someone I've been waiting a long, long time to see. At first, I was upset that this place got in the way of us being together, but the truth is, it might be better this way!
[She giggles, then, and hugs herself as if to hold her body together. She rocks and sways in place when she continues to speak.]
In this place, there's no one or nothing that can stand between us any longer! So, I wanted to ask them to bring him here. It's okay if they don't right away—it's fine if I just have to wait a little bit longer. I've already waited so long that I know my organs will rot inside my body before my love for him dies!
[ ooc: Since I'm not doing her intro, assuming some prior interaction is fine within reason. ]

Morgan Pendragon | Camelot
Tonight, she longs for something familiar, and in the Black Stallion, she finds it.

I should have ordered wine.

[ Had she been talking to him? Nope. Does he care? Absolutely not. Grantaire has a habit of addressing the entire world when he's drunk (and he is most of the time) and Morgan isn't going to get special treatment.
Especially not since she is quite exceptionally beautiful. How is he supposed to resist giving that a go? He knows that most women probably wouldn't go for him, but you wouldn't be able to tell from his attitude. He always acts as if he's in very high demand indeed among the ladies. ]

Merlin | Camelot (Starz TV-series)
He swung his legs over the edge of his narrow and rather hard bed (that is how he preferred it) and got to his feet, rubbing a hand over his scalp and feeling the soft and very short hairs there tickle his palm. The floorboards creaked, a loud sound in the hush before dawn, and he winced a little. He went to the window, opening it to let cool air rush in and raise goosebumps on the skin of his bare chest. It cleared his head some but did nothing to make him feel more at ease, and so he gave up the notion of sleep for the moment and instead got dressed. That task taken care of he made his way to the front door and headed out on the street, the lights illuminating it a welcome difference from what he was used to even if part of him would always prefer the convenience of shadows. Better to learn secrets from people you could not see than to be seen by them and learn nothing at all. Intrigue is a game best played in darkness.
He set off at a brisk pace, not really going anywhere in particular but letting the act of movement take over his mind and drive from it all thought. He focused on the muscles in his legs, the tendons, the bones. He let himself be filled with wonder at the marvel of human anatomy. It was a wonder, really, that people did not fall apart more than they did. He often wondered why humanity seemed so insitent on stupidity, but when one considered the fact that all of their actions were dictated by a clump of grey matter located inside their skulls, it all made a lot more sense.
Merlin took a deep breath, and a tiny smile softened the features of his usually stern face as some of the tension left his system. A walk had been a good idea, it seemed.
no subject
She watched him, barely hidden in the shadows of some building or other. The only other person walking the streets, he wasn't hard to miss and she couldn't mistake him for another to save her life.
Even now, her mind was set on one thing, and while Merlin fought it, she didn't. Magic. Magic and the reason she was up at this hour. She hadn't slept tonight, instead, she had wandered the woods, tried and tried and tried again to perform the ritual that would normally grant her strength. Here, it did nothing. It exhausted her, and at some point, she must have wiped her nose on her sleeve absent-mindedly, because only now she noticed the blood on it.
It was high time for her to get home, clean herself up, and sleep. But as he approached...
She took a step forward, out of the shadows into the early morning light, absolutely impossible to miss, he was too close for that already.
"You seem to be in high spirits this morning."
Even if she looked like death warmed over, she somehow managed not to sound the part.

Mycroft Holmes ☂ BBC Sherlock
[Good afternoon, Ruby City, you are greeted by the passive look of one Mycroft Holmes. The smile he offers is fake, a polite gesture to the masses he had no great pleasure in addressing. Mycroft always tried to be polite, manners and other basic forms of etiquette being important to him (something Sherlock did not inherit, unfortunately.) He seems to be seated at a café within the heart of the city.]
Good afternoon, I do hope I'm not interrupting any schedules that a more seasoned resident would keep at such an hour. I will make this brief, as it is just a simple inquiry.
Upon arrival I heard, in passing, mentions of our captors. The fliers and other information I was presented with did not... ah, satisfy the questions I may have had at the time. Upon further investigation I have found some people like to keep mum on the subject.
So I direct the subject to you; the others forced to live here. Any information will do, I assure you.
Thank you for your time.
[Another strained, fake smile before he shuts down the feed. He will check back when he figures enough time has passed. Regardless the watch is being set on the small table, next to his cup of tea.]
[Action]
The café itself was not up to par to his well tuned tastes. Mycroft had carefully wiped the rim of his cup with his pocket kerchief before he even dared take a sip of this watered down filth they called tea. It's purpose was to serve him some moderate comfort in this backwater town, something familiar and warm to warm his belly while he waited for answers. In all honesty he did not trust the public, but it was in his experience that any information happened to be far better than no information in the long run.
After making a face at the poor excuse that dared call itself tea, he set the cup down again and leaned back in his seat. Crossing his legs under the table he neatly folded his hands on his lap, lips pressed into a thin line as he started to observe those around him. The gift of observation had not been Sherlock's alone, no, the elder of the Holmes brothers was also quite adept in this science. People watching could be quite an enjoyable past-time, there was so much one could learn by merely observing someone in their natural- or in this case not so natural - habitat.
It was all he could do now, his mobile painfully silent. No texts or urgent phone calls demanding his attention. No work. A man of his position, after being busy for so long... to find himself with nothing to do? It was maddening. All he had right now was awful tea, people watching and perhaps some idle chit chat to anyone he could possibly share his time with.
Mycroft was miserable here, not to mention dreadfully bored.
Oh, he might still be in said bushes too. Multi-tasking for the win?]
Our captors have minimal amounts to say, partake in wanton destruction and I'm afraid the information you have received is all there is to be had at the moment. A resident whose stay has the misfortune of being longer may aide you better.
