ACTIVITY CHECK -- PRELIMINARY RESULTS

§ Activity Check Results §

Below is the list of all characters that did not check in for this month's Activity Check covering the dates:

Janury 26, 2012 - March 5, 2012

Players who missed checking in may reclaim their characters here. This post will remain open for three (3) days and close at 11:59 PM CST on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. At that time, characters not claimed will be considered dropped, removed from lists and considered open for others to apply for.

The Following Rules Apply:
✗ Characters reclaimed on this post MUST be reclaimed by their player.
✗ If your characters met activity during the applicable period, please provide a link to the activity proof.
✗ Characters reclaimed on this post who do not currently meet activity must post double activity for next month's activity check.

Full rules for Activity and Activity Checks can be found on the rules page.

If you feel that any of the list below is on this list in error (if we overlooked a comment on the original Activity Check post or missed an announced hiatus), please respond here and let us know! We're all human, and we all make mistakes. Any player may respond to inform us of this sort of error, regardless of whether or not they play the character in question.

It sucks to realize you missed an AC, but the date that it happens and how it works are in the rules. :( This is how the majority of DWRP games work.

Here's a quick paste so you don't have to go looking it up:

✗ Activity Checks
Activity checks are performed on the 5th of every month. Players are then given 4 days to post their activity proof in an Activity Check post in rubycity_ooc. At this time, characters and players who have not checked in will be listed in a separate post and given a second chance to respond with proof of activity.

If a player wishes to reclaim a character that has not met the activity requirements for the activity check period, they can comment to reclaim their characters as well. Characters reclaimed this way must then post double activity for the following month or lose their character.

Players that are on hiatus during the time of the activity check do not need to check in themselves. We will review their activity ourselves and if they do not meet activity we will consider the circumstances surrounding their hiatus. Real life comes before RP and it is highly unlikely we will remove anyone from the game who is on hiatus during a check. That said, if it becomes apparent that hiatuses are being used to duck activity checks or to disguise a general lack of activity, this issue will be addressed with the player individually.

A good thing to do is make sure you keep up with the OOC comm as well as the IC community. I know this can all be a bit overwhelming when you're new to a community, and I'm sure the mods understand too. Overall it's not a big deal. No harm no foul, right? :)

I'm not a mod but I'd be happy to help you get familiar with game mechanics if you aren't already.

No harm no foul?

Spending forever trying to write a 'worthy' application that could be turned down anyway because of one little thing is slightly demeaning and then to find out that you have to 'check in' every month or else the application that you had just wasted hours on becomes null and void - sure, that's no harm at all.

I've been in App games before and never once have I had to 'check in' to basically see if I was still alive, a polite PM from a mod or another playing to see if I was alright was all it took and it's not as if people don't have lives outside of the internet or live in different countries where the time zones are different, making it possible for people to miss out on silly, stupid things like this.

And shouldn't the mods be watching the rp threads, re-checking everyday to see if someone on their list has posted after the deadline?

I'm simply trying to help, there's really no need to take this tone with me. I understand you're upset but I don't believe I've done anything to deserve it.

The application process is the same in all games I've been in. I could give examples, but I don't see the point. The rules were available to you when you applied, and you should have read them. I'm not arguing that RL> RP. I know RL is more important, as I've had my own experiences.

If you have a problem with the way something is run, you're welcome to bring it up to the mods on the suggestion page. This notice isn't meant to embarrass or shame players, it's a friendly reminder. All told, players have about a week to respond to activity check with no repercussions at all. To be honest, this activity check is lax compared to most.
