Bellatrix Lestrange • Harry Potter
action+accidental audio
[ The door is opened in a most unconventional way: blasted off its hinges with a spell, the empty space is left with smoke and, soon the figure of a woman with raven dark hair and heavily lidded eyes. ]
Rodolphus!
[ There is no answer. ]
Rabastan! Crouch!
[ But there is no answer yet again and as the woman steps off the train, she regards her surroundings with nothing short of scorn. Bellatrix Lestrange has never been quite the injured animal type but even when her defences are low, she excels at masking uneasiness with something a little more menacing. Trains, she knows them all too well - seven years of constant trips from home, to Hogwarts, and back, could say a thing or another. Yet she much prefers apparition these days.
She takes a few steps, wand tightly held in her hand and ready to cast a disarming spell (or something just a little worse) at any suspicious onlookers. The station seems to be empty, but that does not ease her any more and she only stops to regard one of the posters identifying this strange location.
It is decidedly outside her area of knowledge and that is a very worrying thing. She was about to...
Well.
It's not as if the Longbottoms are going anywhere soon.
Completely unaware of the pocket watch that has been recording her voice all along, she steps towards the gates and the city itself. One ought to tread carefully near her; Bellatrix does not take lightly to mockery or threats. ]

Especially not for Bellatrix' role in it, and least of all for the vigor with which her eldest sister enforced every last bit of it.
Though, one would be lying if one claimed that she has not carefully prepared herself for that day. And one would live in denial if one hasn't considered that even the best laid plans could fail her in this situation.
She appears at the station with the soft plopping sound that indicates apparation. Blond hair down, wand at her side - and hoping that the other woman would recognize her before attacking.]
Bella.
[Her first thought is to reprimand her sister's ... improper behavior, as it would call unnecessary attention to her, but this might not be the best moment for such a thing.]

Cissy.
[ There is something to her tone, that sort of arrogance you'd expect from someone you could see nearly every day - and for Bellatrix, this is essentially the case. It's not as if she hasn't seen her sister lately. The question is, what is she doing here as well?
On the upside, she has dropped any menacing tone. It's her sister after all, and her favourite at that. ]
Where are we exactly?

This isn't who he had been waiting for, who he'll always be waiting for, not the one he wants to have his revenge on so badly. But it's still Bellatrix and Azkaban itself was almost still too good for her.
He doesn't waste time, but apparates right away, wand in hand and aiming a disarming spell as soon as he can.
Not that he expects this to be that easy.]

Her advantage resides on one of the pillars which she contours with particular ease. But that alone is more a matter of fortune and doesn't give her the upper hand and when she casts her own disarming spell, it's just a little too sloppy, a little too easy to miss.
She would chastise herself, but when Bella catches a glimpse of her attacker, she outright cackles. ]
Is that how you greet family, Sirius? [ Though he could hardly be considered as much. ]

[He has paused to think about that answer for a second, more for effect than because he truly had to. Humour wasn't his weakness, there were a lot of other attributes lining up for that.]
But you should take it personally anyway.
[Naturally, he doesn't waste much time with talking, instead choosing to fire a couple more spells. Offensive, but not any dark curses. Principles aren't forgotten that easily.]

And senior to him as she is, high standing and feared, he listens to her, too.
And so as she had called for him, he comes to her, smile on his face as he apparates, but wand on the ready, because he'd have to be a fool not to always expect an attack.]
My lady Lestrange.

Really, though, with all these impromptu appearances in unknown cities, she might as well have let it out on him. ]
Crouch. [ She purses her lips, refuses to lower her wand so soon even next to a fellow Death Eater. Her voice is nothing short of patronizing, too. ] Where are the Longbottoms?
no subject
[Whether or not one enjoys his wit, it's undeniable that he does have it. A twisted and dark thing like most things about him, but it's there nonetheless.
He does realize what her question means though, and even as the patronizing tone is not appreciated, he doesn't let his temper show. When he wants, he can have himself very well in check indeed.]
This place messes with time. You must be from before we tortured them until their minds broke.

He picks up the watch with a shaking hand. There are exactly two options: hope she won't learn of his presence in the city, but it's too late to keep it a secret, or try to convince her of his loyalty to the Dark Lord. Hopefully it would keep him alive. Hopefully. Possibly. Maybe. With some dumb luck.]
Bella. It's... good to have you with us.

Bellatrix doesn't immediately associate it with the pocket watch and instead looks around - a ghost would be a familiar sight, albeit not one of him. Hearing voice is a completely different thing.
It's as she turns once more that the pocket watch drops from her robes and she picks it up with a strange curiosity. It doesn't take her long to figure out what it is actually for, though the idea is no less foreign to her.
She would sum it as some sort of muggle invention to get rid of, but she hardly things any muggle would create such a device. ]
Weren't you dead, Regulus?
[ She'll be all too happy to rectify that for you. ]
no subject
Bugger it all.
She just has to be from the future, doesn't she?
Regulus' smile freezes on his face for just a moment before he regains control of his facial impression. So much for the hope that Bella was from earlier in the timeline than him.
Unfortunately, yes. It was an unpleasant death. I'm glad to be alive again. [He swallows hard.] I hope I will be able to make up for the disappointment I have caused our Lord.
