[MEME] Let's Talk RC (CR Testdrive)

I don't really have a fitting picture for this.

G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

  • Post with your character with their name and canon on top!

  • Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.

  • If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.

  • Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.

Locations:

  1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

  2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

  3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!

  4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

  5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

  6. The Coffee Joint: Run by James Potter and Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

  7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

Scenarios

  1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

  2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

  3. Inclimate weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

  4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

Have fun, guys!

I'm just going to assume some CR!

[Kirei sits in his seat, leaning back, nursing his coffee, watching Manaka talk to the others. He's not being nearly so talkative himself, but then, he's hardly a social butterfly. There's a faint smile on his face. Her aura doesn't bother him, since their auras are more or less the same. At least he doesn't have an ever-bleeding wound from being shot in the heart, though. Small mercies.

He doesn't speak until she draws close to him again and they can't be overheard.
]

Do they really entertain you, like this?
beastofasister: (but where is the respect)

cool with me!

[Hey, man, she likes her chest wound. It's her engagement ring!]

Hm? Shouldn't they? [She sounds curious as she stops and looks at him, but at the same time, there's an odd detachment to the way she speaks. It's tone that would be better suited for referring to animals or objects than people.] I think they're interesting.

[If anything, spending the last eight years submerged in the darkest desires of mankind has only made the human heart more interesting to her, rather than less.]

[Why didn't Kiritsugu give him an engagement ring? Unfair.]

They're very interesting, in that they have potential, but here, now--they're showing none of it.

[They're happy, relaxed. He searches their faces for some signs of sorrow, and finds something of what he's looking for, but it's not nearly enough. It's intriguing, but not amusing.]

They're nothing, compared to what they could be.

[He loves the human heart, but he wants it to grow, to flourish.]

They need improvement.

That's why you have to talk to them.

[She says this as she moves to sit in the chair across from him. Her own drink is long finished.]

People try to cover themselves up, but it's fun to scratch away at the surface until you find what they keep hidden underneath. Even if it's just a peek, you can uncover the truth little by little. It's like reading a mystery novel or putting together a puzzle.

But, I'm probably not looking for the same things you are.

[Greed and hatred and jealousy, that's what fascinates her.]

I talk to them. When they merit it, or it pleases me. I prefer a setting more conducive to enjoyment. Where they're vulnerable. Where they can show me their finer qualities.

[Talking in cafes generally doesn't get him what he wants.]

It's not that I don't agree with you. I know what it's like, to strip them of what's unnecessary and uncover what I want, and it can be amusing, but some of them are far more amusing than others.

[He has his preferences, his favorites. He shakes his head, and for a moment he looks indulgent. He smiles.]

No, you probably aren't.

[Those emotions are of some interest to him, but only as a means to an end, and they pale in comparison to what he really desires.]

You don't think it's interesting to see the ways they cover themselves up? [Interesting, or maybe funny. After spending so much time surrounded by the darkest wishes of humanity, the way people are so desperate to hide those kinds of desires amuses her.] Think of it like a before and after portrait!

Of course some have more value than others. [It isn't just anyone that interests her as something more than passing entertainment, after all.] Maybe I think it's fun to make finding the worthwhile ones a game itself.

It's funny, though, don't you think? What you or I would call their "finer qualities" is exactly the kind of thing they try to hide.

They're so transparent. Their coverings are all alike, in the end, no matter how much they may seem to vary at first glance. Transitory, useless, laughable. I suppose it is interesting on some level, but it's much more interesting to see them crumble. To see them laid bare.

[He closes his eyes briefly, as if savoring some secret pleasure, then opens them again.]

Fortunately, though some of them may have more potential, any of them can be made worthwhile, with the proper actions taken. That, to me, is the superior game.

[He nods his head, slowly, and there's heat and real emotion in his voice when he speaks.]

They don't understand what they have to offer, how beautiful they are.

[personal profile] beastofasister 2013-06-23 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[She hums out a noise that's both thoughtful and a little amused.]

You know, for the one with such discerning taste, you think much better of them than I do. [But she thinks that's interesting, too. He's an interesting person, in a way different than what they're discussing.] Most of them only have real value in being thrown away. ...Ah, but maybe that means we feel the same way after all?
lovesmankind: (013)

[personal profile] lovesmankind 2013-06-23 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Thrown away? Not at all. What I want is to see them grow--to reach their ultimate conclusion, their peak, their most magnificent. That final moment. That shudder of brilliance. It destroys them, but it makes them priceless.

No one can love them more than I do.

I want what's best for them.
beastofasister: (things have only gotten worse)

[personal profile] beastofasister 2013-06-24 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Mm, but in either case, you'd say that their ultimate value lies in their death, wouldn't you? Besides, for most humans, becoming as a sacrifice to the Grail would let them accomplish something greater than anything else they would do in their lives.

[She's so kind, giving their lives meaning like that. She just doesn't have a Grail to toss the chaff into right now, that's all.]

Of course. You're very magnanimous.
