I don't really have a fitting picture for this.

G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

• Post with your character with their name and canon on top!

1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.


2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?


3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!


4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: Run by James Potter and Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

Scenarios

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.


3. Inclimate weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?


4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

[No right to ask anything more? That brings a slightly dark smile to Link's face. It has never been enough, with him. There is always something more to be done, some new deadly request from an ungrateful people. He had been their sword and shield and nothing else.

With Hylia, though, it almost seems different. A request from the bottom of her heart for the sake of the people she so loves. That Link himself loves, cannot bring himself to hate in spite of their cruelty towards him.

He wonders, briefly, if this sentiment had been her doing from the start.]

Your kind words mean the world to me, Goddess.

[He speaks with a sincerity that is only for her, now.]

[It's enough for her that he tried, that he put the safety of the people and the land before his anger towards them all. That alone spoke of his spirit, tempered to be unbreakable but still caring. Gentle.]

I speak only the truth.

[She smiles and lightly runs her fingers across his cheek before gesturing to his seat.]

Your drink is going to get cold, I think.

[Again, the personal, bordering on intimate touch confuses Link, leaves him lost in thought for a moment before taking his seat.]

Yes, I... suppose it is.

[Still watching her curiously, Link takes a sip of his coffee and is instantly distracted, doing his best to keep his composure in front of a goddess but at the some time...]

This stuff is utterly fowl!

[But it smells so good... Why do you betray him, coffee?? TT_TT]

[And laughing. She's laughing and she can't help it. You tried Link, you did. But the coffee proved to be a greater foe.]

Then why don't we find something better.

[Yes. We. Because you're stuck with her now, Link.]

[Alas. Clearly the Demon King was made of coffee or... something.]

That sounds like an excellent idea.

[Link tries to manage a smile through the coffee-induced grimace.

Is he truly sitting down and having a drink with a goddess? What have things come to?]

[He pushes the coffee toward the side of the table like it's poisonous and looks to the menu hanging above the main counter.]

[Seems legit.]

Hmm.

[She looks to the hanging menu and reads over all the foreign drinks that can be found, the brief descriptions of them.]

What about a... smoothie?

I would not mind that. Fruit was a rare luxury for the longest time! [He smiles at Hylia before stepping up to the counter. It's only as he's ordering that he realizes that his second comment wasn't the best of things to say to her.

...But yes ~experimentation~ is always a good thing.]

[Ouch. Just... ouch.]

Then we will indulge in whatever you might want.

[Gotta try to make it up to him. No matter how necessary his imprisonment was, there was nothing she regretted more.]

[He's just going to... caaasually let that slide by and hope she doesn't hate him for it. He grins, leaning lightly against the counter as they wait.]

Have you had one before?

[Meanwhile, he's watching all the funny machines as they whirl and buzz in the kitchen. He has never seen anything like them, outside the City.]

[She could never hate him.]

Never, this is all as new to me as it is to you. It's a bit of an adventure, isn't it?

[Oh, Hylia~...]

I suppose we could call it that...

[Link takes the drinks from the cashier and hands it to Hylia with a tiny bow of his head.]

Shall we?

[He lifts a hand slightly to the table where they have just been sitting a moment ago.

...The coffee is still sitting there.]

[She takes hers from her and, with a smile, nods and returns to their table. She pushes the coffee off to the side and away from their own drinks now before sitting and raises the glass to Link.]

[My, she is something else, isn't she? A goddess, raising her glass to a man! Link, in turn, raises his own glass.]

What shall we drink to?

[An odd mockery of tradition, sitting in some unknown place with a strange, thick liquid in his glass, but it seems that they are throwing tradition to the winds today, so hang it.]

[Of course she is! It's part of the reason that the Golden Goddesses entrusted her with the fates of the life left on their world and the Triforce.]

To... Familiar faces far from home.

[Hang everything.]

[Link smiles warmly at that.]

Yes.

[He taps his glass against Hylia's then takes a sip. It is a far different scene from the last drink he shared... That had been with Orville, the night he'd been arrested more than four years ago.

Which is tactfully not going to be mentioned.]

This is much better... [He glances down at the smoothie, taking another sip.]

[She watches him take a sip. NOT FOR ANY REASON! Just, you know, being polite. Not because she's waiting to see his reaction.

Once he does, she takes a sip of her own.]

Oh, this is wonderful!

[Screw coffee forever. Smoothies are amazing~]

It is very sweet... Almost overwhelmingly so. But delicious.

[Link knocks his glass back like a pint and is halfway through swallowing a sizable gulp when he realizes that this is hardly appropriate behavior. He pauses mid-swig, eyes slightly wide and apologetic as he watches for Hylia's reaction.
