[MEME] Let's Talk RC (CR Testdrive)

I don't really have a fitting picture for this.
G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.
Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations:
- Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.
- Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?
- The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!
- The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.
- The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.
- The Coffee Joint: Run by James Potter and Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.
- Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.
Scenarios
- Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.
- Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.
- Inclimate weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?
- Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!
Have fun, guys!

I am sure you will. And even if you stumble, you will just pick yourself up and continue to move forward again. You would not have become who you are if you had let yourself give in when things got hard.

[It isn't that she doesn't trust or value Diarmuid's word-- but she can't trust herself.]
I'm not sure that who I am is quite enough.
[She could not lead the people she saved-- she had wanted to undo her rule and couldn't even wish for it-- and now was having Diarmuid listen to this?]
Forgive me, my words are out of line.

Saber? Did you not just say that this place could not take your title and role from you? And yet you speak almost as if you have already failed and decided not to get back up.
What has happened? What has dimmed that hope and confidence that so surrounded you when last we met?
no subject
[Saber doesn't look at him, instead shoving her hands into the pockets of her trousers.]
I am... not sure. Being here, there is a conflicting attitude... but before I left it was made clear to me-- by Rider, by the events of the war-- that I was no king. And even my greatest wish is both considered wrong and deemed unattainable.
no subject
[Diarmuid scoffs, his arms crossing over his chest.]
Tell me Saber, whose words should hold more value to you? A conqueror who names himself king and saw fit to interrupt our duel with his foolishness or the knights whom you lead and your own heart?
And who knows your wishes the best? Who has the right to deem them unattainable? Some war crafted by the hands of a group of selfish magi or you?
no subject
[Her voice falters just a touch.]
It was my fault. It was my fault the people rebelled-- Rider was correct. I couldn't lead them, I couldn't-- I couldn't understand them.
They died because of me-- my dearest friend went mad because of me! I wished to erase my rule, Lancer! And there is nothing I can do to remove the blight of my actions from those who didn't deserve it! Don't you see?
I wronged even those who pledged their fealty to me when I was sworn to lead them!
no subject
Of course I don't understand! I am not you. I was not there, but how pray tell, does giving up and erasing yourself from existence fix anything? You focus only on the bad things that happened and the mistakes you made. Yes, you hurt people. Yes, you made mistakes. We all do, but if we all wished to erase things instead of fixing them there would be nothing left to fix!
[He pauses here to pace a few steps away from her in frustration before turning back.]
You did good things as well. If you had not you would not be a hero. You would be a villain and history would not remember you as the pinnacle of what a knight should be. If you think you fall short of that pinnacle, then keep trying to fix what you feel is wrong, don't just walk away and give up! No one is perfect. No one has to be perfect. Not even the King of Knights. Everyone knows that.
Everyone but you it seems...

She wants him to be right. She wants to believe he's right, that she's not as horrendous as she believes. But it's not happening.
When she speaks, it's without the earlier conviction; she seems almost as small as her stature.]
...I accepted that as king I was not to be human. I was supposed to be more. I did as I believed was right and still couldn't... be enough. So forgive me if the King of Knights can barely believe she deserves to be king at all.
no subject
It's not me you have to ask for forgiveness, Saber. It's yourself. You set an unreasonably high goal for yourself and as so often happens, you failed to meet that goal. Now you have two choices. You can accept that you made a mistake, set a new goal and begin moving forward again or you can wallow forever in your pain and continue to fall farther and father away from what you wanted to be for your people and for yourself.
no subject
The sad smile on her face conveys this, though she says little about it.]
How can a knight be so much wiser than a king? You look little older than I am, Diarmuid. What is it that tells you this-- to keep moving forward?
no subject
I am not that wise, Saber. I have just as many faults and doubts as anyone else does. However, for as long as I can remember, my father always told me all that I needed to succeed was the will to keep going forward. As long as I never gave up, I would eventually reach my goal and become what I wanted to be. Sometimes, I have moved forward toward those things quickly and sometimes I have moved farther away from them, but if I give up there is no way I will ever reach them.
[He gives her a determined look.]
These are things I really want. Things that make my existence have meaning. These things...they have changed over time, but they are still there. Still waiting for me. And they will always be there waiting as long as I don't give up my fight. If they will always wait how can I do anything else but always fight for them?
no subject
[She believes him, she does, it's simply difficult to apply them to her life. It's hard to listen. But maybe, maybe, the King of Knights wasn't always correct.
She swallows, casts her gaze to the ground for a moment, and then looks his way again.]
You have my word, Diarmuid. I will try to follow this-- I will try.
I trust you, as knight and comrade.
no subject
All I ever ask of anyone is to try, Saber. Even if you can only try a little at a time, try. Small steps forward are just as important--if not more so--than large ones.
[He bows his head, honored at her trust in him and hoping it is not misplaced, but he does not speak of his doubts of himself here. This is a time for her, not him.]
Thank you. To hear you say that means a great deal to me.
no subject
Turning her face, she seems almost embarrassed suddenly.]
Forgive me. I've become rather distracted, it seems. I didn't mean to derail our conversation.
no subject
[Diarmuid shakes his head dismissively at her concerns.]
Please don't worry so much, Saber. I enjoy talking with you. No matter the subject. Now that we are both here for the foreseeable future, I hope we will have the chance to have many more talks.
[It really won't matter about what. He just truly enjoys talking to someone who understands him and what is important to him.]
no subject
[She seems almost amused by the prospect.]
You will always find eager conversation as well as eager competition in me, Lancer.
no subject
[Diarmuid smiles widely at her before shifting the topic back to the city.]
All that you have told me is a lot to take in. I likely will explore more tonight, but for now do you think you could direct me toward someplace in the city where it might be okay for me to stay? I would like to find a place where I can sort through some of my thoughts and what I have learned before I continue moving forward.
