G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

[In no time it all, Ema has examined her surroundings, and isn't too pleased by her predicament (though, perhaps slightly more pleasant than working for that glimmerous fop). She hardly keeps herself at the station for long, and has already taken to exploring the town, munching on a bag of snackoos along the way.

Have you found anything of interest so far?

Oh, absolutely. The varied population, the out-of-place architecture, the mysterious train and station... but I think the most interesting thing so far is this coffeehouse. Some of the best coffee I've had in a long, long time.

[And to punctuate that statement, he finishes off his current cup with a content sigh.]

[ there's a scrawny, nervous-looking fellow at the train station. he's paused right in the middle of the platform, and he's cupping the flame of a lighter as he tries with trembling hands to light his cigarette. dressed in sneakers with no socks, jeans that have been rolled up to mid-calf, and a lab-coat stuffed with papers and bits of things he's collected over a striped, long-sleeved shirt, he looks like a disaster and he probably works in some sort of lab somewhere. right?

alfendi can't remember boarding the train or why he'd done it or where he is. it's happening more and more often these days; losing time, minutes or even hours. at least he knows why, which.. helps. with a psyche split in two, he should be.. seeing someone, on medication, something. but no one at the yard's insisted, and he knows very well why. professor hershel layton's son is infinitely preferable when his alternate consciousness is in control-- which is almost always. which is.. now. (it's strange, even knowing that he's the false personality, he doesn't feel fake.)

he gets the cigarette lit, taking a deep drag and releasing the smoke slowly as he peers around at his surroundings. right. well, wherever his alternate self has taken him this time, he supposes he should discover the reason why. especially as lucy isn't around to relay the details. ]

a. the train station.

[ You'll find a quiet girl with long hair in the train station even as the train's rolled out into the darkness, mostly unruffled by her sudden arrival in the city. Rather, she's examining the posters on the walls, checking the station for every visible piece of information, and looking surprisingly well adjusted. In fact, she takes a few steps towards the area ringing the train station as well, even walking on the tracks for a few moments as if trying to confirm something. ]

[ Pearl squeals a little more, still trying to wriggle out of Maya's hold. ]

Mystic Maayyaaaaaaa! S-stop it!!

[ghostshippingly]

[ another look of surprise, she glances between Integra's face and the communicator with wide eyes. ]

I-I would like that very much! Can I really do that?

[ghostshippingly]

[ Pearl's face immediately lights up at the comment about Maya; of course, to her, it's natural that people would think good things about her cousin, but hearing it still makes her very happy. ]

Oh, no sir! Mystic Maya is my cousin, but... sometimes, I feel as though she is a sister to me. She's a truly wonderful person!

[ there's puzzlement on her face now; she can't remember a trial involving a frozen mountain. in fact, she's never really spoken to Mr. Edgeworth before now; she only recognises him by sight thanks to seeing him in court and at the police precinct during the case with Mr. Engarde, when Mystic Maya was...

... either way, it's clear even to her that something doesn't add up here. in the meantime, she falls back on politeness, chewing her bottom lip slightly in confusion. ]

Um... I'm very sorry, but I don't know what you mean. You must know Mystic Maya because she works with Mr. Nick, right? I'm her cousin, Pearl.

[ her protest dissolves into helpless giggles, and when Maya finally leaves off, she keeps laughing for a few moments, trying to catch her breath (and her composure) and only being slightly successful. ]

Of - of course - I'll come and look! [ still catching her breath, she brushes a strand of hair out of her face, a stray giggle escaping her. ] I want to see what such a big shrine looks like from inside!

Good. I've gotta have you near to beat up anybody I don't like if they show up. [She winks at Pearl, walking her to the door before setting her down.]
