G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.


2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?


3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!


4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.


3. Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

[Scott happens to reside close to the tracks, so when the sound of a train screeching to a halt catches his enhanced hearing, he is quick to check out what just disembarked. He might be slightly hopeful that Allison is coming back. However, what steps off the train is absolutely not what he wants to see. Ever. Come on, aren't you dead.]

Kate? [He chokes out before his brain actually kicks in and tells him he really should keep his mouth shut and just walk away. But no. There's that brain of his acting a little slower than his mouth.]

[Oh, it's the puppy with the adorable brown eyes. Of course, the last time Kate saw Scott she'd been holding a gun at him. Now, she's wondering if he's dead too. If something had happened.

That made her curious, but mostly she's still not sure where she is.]

Aww, if I knew the afterlife had such cute tour guides, I might not have had such a strong survival instinct.

[Speaking of survival instincts, Scott, you really should listen to yours. He's always telling Isaac to pay attention to his. Practice what you preach, kid!]

Afterlife? [The word sinks in and, yes, he's heard of this in Ruby City. People appearing here after dying. So, she thinks she's dead. Wait! She thinks he's dead!] I'm not--This isn't... [He takes a subconscious step backward.]

[Lifting an eyebrow she watches him and his cute puppy confused face.]

Who is the rest of you? [She's wondering if Allison is here. She feels like she owes her an explanation... an apology. Possibly.]

Yeah. [Scott is ever grateful to get the topic away from his friends and focus on Kate's niece. Who also happens to be his friend, but he's pretty sure she's safe.]

Around here, when someone disappears, they sometimes come back. I don't really understand why it happens, but they kinda have more memories than before they left. But when someone disappears and their stuff vanishes too... [He shrugs, though his features show he's still mourning her loss.] They don't usually come back.

[It's a lot of information for someone that just arrived, but she nods.]

When was she here last?

[He felt that underlying panic ebbing away completely, actually feeling bad for Kate right now. He isn't going to forget that she tried to kill him, but he'll overlook it in the present situation.]

She was here when I got here. [Kind of.] A few days after I got settled, she disappeared.
