G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.


2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?


3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!


4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.


3. Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

[ Madoka blinks at first, startled by the suddenness and forwardness of the stranger's approach. she recovers quickly enough, though, offering him a smile as she brushes a strand of hair behind her ear. ]

Ah, well, there is a library! It doesn't have any computers or anything, but it's close to the city centre, near the obelisk... are you new here, sir?

[despite being somewhat out of practice when it came to social graces (and he'd never been fantastic at them at the best of times), he realized he'd been a little blunt with the girl. nevertheless, even if he had startled her, she still had the answers he needed - pleasantries could come later.]

Yes, I just came from the station. Will the library be able to tell me where here is?

Well, about that... not really, to tell the truth. I can't say for sure since it's a big place, and I don't go there often, but... even though there's a lot of books about all sorts of worlds, anything about the city itself seems to be missing, you see. [ she looks apologetic. ] Ah, you see, this place is... I guess the easiest way to describe it is as a separate universe to any of the ones that we've come from, if that makes sense.

[his shoulders slump at her answer - and he's momentarily surprised at such a natural physical reaction to something that affects him emotionally. he looks down at his hands as he answers her, flexing his fingers.]

I knew there was something wrong with it the minute I arrived. That's why I was looking for answers, and quickly. I can't be here, you see.

[he looks up at her, fists clenched] I have important responsibilities at home. How do I get back?

Well... we're still trying to work on that, too. The ones who brought us here don't really want us to leave on our own. Oh, but, if you had something important to get back to you don't need to worry! Time seems to stop back home until people go back there, so... for the people who do go back, somehow, it's always like they never left. At least, I think so. It's never actually happened to me personally.
