G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.


2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?


3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!


4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

Scenarios

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.


3. Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

[Sasha's mouth opens partway in a canine approximation of a smile, and a little laughing emanates from the hole in his brow.]

You actually had me concerned.

[ He shrugs a little, but the smile behind the bandanna remains. ]

I tend to have that effect on people.

--Not to be rude, I mean. I, ah. That word has a specific connotation where I'm from--apparently it's rude to say here.

"Weird"? I'm afraid it doesn't have the same connotation where I'm from. It just means you're odd or a little different.

[ Noa takes the opportunity to roll off the tree branch and land on all three of his remaining limbs, carefully standing up as to not lose his balance. It would be a little embarrassing. ]

And I do qualify under that definition.

[Sasha struggles between laughter--nervous and otherwise--and immense apology. He settles for apology.]

[ Noa laughs. ]

[Sasha sobers, his ears swivelling back a bit.]

[ Noa's own ears swivel back and he looks a little affronted. ]

That book fell out of popularity for us... a... while ago.

[Sasha's ears swivel a bit sideways now, flattening to show his apprehension and uncertainty.

He feels a little bad for not knowing, but he's also uncomfortable with the implications of the subject.]

[ Lets try and get this back on track maybe?? Noa's not too hopeful about it, honestly, and his tail winds around his leg protectively. His ears flicker back a little farther, getting closer and closer to just laying flat against his head. ]

Oh, uh- like the cinema? It's neat how they can make pictures move like that, but I like words better.

I read this article once; apparently they're working on putting sound in the pictures. Like voices and stuff.

[ His ears perk up a little at the prospect and he looks actually a little excited for it. ]

I think it sounds pretty neat!

...you're watching silent film?

[Sasha's ears perk up in interest--cautiously, yes, but they stay up once they're there. Pentecost--oh, it's too bad Pentecost wasn't here to hear that. He'd have practically wet himself in excitement.]

Where I'm from, they already have!

They have?? Oh that's amazing! I mean, the films aren't entirely silent; they have music playing but. They have voices and everything?

Voices and everything else! Music is still used to create atmosphere, but that's on record too.

The old silent films are considered historical works of art.
