Dangan Ronpa event post!

Greetings, fellow players of Ruby City! I’m Dev, and I’m in the game currently as Marco, Ishimaru, and Casimiro. I come to you today with an offering for a player run event, one that centers around the concept of the Dangan Ronpa game.

TL;DR under the cut! Please excuse any Engrish, I've revised this around twice so maybe something slipped past me.

A preemptive warning, as this will be an event that will revolve around character death, and there is no way to be exempt from the possibility of your character dying!
It’s also an optional event, meaning that, to take part, you will need to sign up using the form below! Even if you don’t want to sign up, please share this around so the biggest possible number of players may get to know about it.

So, Dangan Ronpa itself is a mix between Battle Royale, where the students are inclined to murder one another, and Ace Attorney, where the player is prompted to solve criminal cases.

How do these two mesh together, you ask? Well, that’s the interesting part!

The event will circle around the main happening of Dangan Ronpa, which is the school trial, which in this case would be more like a special edition, a city trial if you will.

The concept of the event itself is that fifteen to sixteen of the residents are locked within a space with no exits, in a place that is unspecified, and depared with this lovely little teddy bear here named Monobear.

Monobear, or Monokuma, is the antagonist of the series, and is the one who explains to the participants what their situation is, and what is expected of them to do, and it’s as follows:

The fifteen-sixteen participants (perhaps more/less, the size will be dependent on the number of sign-ups) are locked in said place without being allowed to leave, with no visible exits and the only way to be able to escape is through committing murder.

Murder of your fellow participants, that is.

All powers are removed from the characters, and weapons are readily available, to make it fair for everyone and to avoid overpowered characters from just pointing their finger and bam, suddenly murder!

Of course, just being told to murder and escape probably wouldn’t prompt much, at least not within a reasonable time frame for an event, that is, unless there’s a special motive in play, which there is, to make everything all the more fun! All characters become vulnerable to thirst and hunger (of course, some characters will be more/less affected depending on their particular circumstance), and are denied food and drink for the duration of the event, making a murder 100% probable to occur.

How it will work, is that every mun who signs up for this even follows one option for their character, either:

a) They are eligible for murdering someone
b) They are eligible to be a victim
c) Both

This is to avoid placing a character who wouldn't commit murder into the culprit position, and since this is an event entirely circling character death, having your character remain unscathed is something that can only be determined through sheer luck.

So, expect there to be murder, and lots of it! Be it at the hands of another participant, or at Monobear’s.

Monobear’s, you ask? Well, you see, Monobear announces that simply murder is not enough to escape, and that the culprit will have to brace through a school trial (city trial, in this case) in order to be able to leave. There won’t be a detailed explanation of the trial itself unless it’s actually time for it. There will be a short, announced time for investigation before the trial, before the survivors are called to an elevator, which leads to a circular courtroom, such as this one right here.

The purpose of the trial is for the survivors to reason out who the murderer is through various clues provided, clues which shall be agreed on in an out of character environment by the murderer’s mun, the organizer of the event and any helpers, and also the murder victim’s mun should they want to chip in as well.

After a trial, there are two options:

a) the party has successfully reasoned out who the murderer is through the clues provided, and the culprit is executed through a very customised execution. These are personalized, and will be extra flashy and shiny in order to provide the most entertainment.

b) the culprit deceives everyone and successfully drives the party into voting for someone innocent, and as a result, everyone but the killer are executed, and the killer walks away in freedom.

In the case of option a, the culprit dies and all the survivors are released back to the city.

In the case of option b, the culprit walks away and is released back onto the city, while all the dead participants are brought back to life some days later without the usual repercussions of character death.

The event will start on the 10th, and will go on until the trial has been resolved, which shouldn't take more than a week.

If you have any questions, please bring them up! This is a very possibly confusing event, so please don’t hesitate to bring up anything I may have missed/haven’t clarified!

There will be a maximum of 18 spots for this event, but should the number reach 24 or more I'll host two different rounds with 12 people each, so get on those sign ups!

Currently, there are 16 sign ups.

Use the form below to comment and sign up!

Sitting this event out, but I've still got some questions!

1. What happens to the communicators for the signed up characters?
2. Is there any kind of city wide notice that so-and-so's been taken, or do they just vanish and wake up where the game's supposed to be taking place?

Oh I am definitely signing up for this.

(Mandy) (Sasha Braus)

THOUGH UH. Whoever is picked to be the murderer/victim, can they work with you to arrange how the murder goes? Because while Sasha could be a victim no matter what, it would take special circumstances for her to be the murderer.

(Zoan) (Rip Van Winkle) Possible Murder

... Though personally I'd find it hilarious for her to be innocent of the crime and get convicted anyway XD But that's me.

Otherwise, Rip would be more than happy to creatively kill whoever XD

For sure signing up for this. I'd like to say Jean would never murder anyone, but in the face of desperation we already know valor can only be afforded to the strong SO

(Jan) (Jean Kirstein) (Preferably innocent but maybe the murderer to save people??)

I've got a short question about the start of this event... is there any signing up ICly or are the characters just going to find themselves in this situation?

Signing up though!

(Yume) (Yosuke Hanamura) (prefereed innocence, for murder the circumstances would needed to be discussed, but it's not entirely unlikely)

Onion
(Lamont Toucey) Murderer

If I may make my case for him: Lamont is, generally speaking, a pacifist (more due to cowardice than morals, though). He's never needed to bloody his hands before, and he's very careful about letting people see anything more than the pleasant mask he wears, so he's unlikely to be an immediate suspect in the minds of the other participants. However, he's absolutely capable of killing to save his own skin if pushed into a corner, and as the player, I'd LOVE to play with his paranoia during both the event proper and the aftermath.

Thank you for your consideration. ;u;

Francis Bonnefoy

Not a murderer

Abel Nightroad

TOTALLY possible murderer, especially if no food is involved. Abel is totally a pacifist, and doesn't like hurting/killing people. However, he's also got a bad side to him - Crusnik nanomachines that are always hungry. He eats copious amounts of food, carbs and sugar mostly, to distract them from their taste for vampire blood.

That being said, he may go on a killing spree if he runs out of food. Depending on the people present, he may devour someone. It'd be cool if he got to do so or got framed for it.

That's fine! If that should come to pass...I'd like to bring in France, because I haven't truly traumatized him in a while and Abel's kinda going through therapy with Archie already and yeah. XD' So yes, Francis will be my first choice.

Jiyu Integra Hellsing Innocent

I would prefer for her not to be a murderer, as she is a knight and something like that would go against her oath. I have no qualms with anyone attempting to shaft the blame on her, though!

Matt Celty Sturluson Not a murderer

I don't mind her being a victim if it comes to it, but you remember the question I brought up about her regeneration. Otherwise, feel free to point blame at her considering her nature. If you have any questions or thoughts, feel free to poke me.

(Nyx) (Manaka Sajou) can totally be the murderer though she might have some trouble doing it with her powers removed?

On that note, because one of Manaka's abilities is having an eternal chest wound that doesn't negatively affect her at all, will that be...removed during the game? It's died up with her ability to be unnaturally hard to kill, so...
beastofasister: (Default)

[personal profile] beastofasister 2013-09-09 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a wound from where her body was impaled in one side and out the other with a sword, so, yeah, if her life-sustaining abilities were removed, she would pretty much immediately die from it, haha. I'd be okay with her having the wound removed for the duration of the plot, but otherwise, like all good zombies, she can be killed anyway by having her head removed.

Also I meant to say tied up in the original comment jeez.

If he's expected to kill, he probably won't do it. 8| Not to mention, come on, everyone is going to think the creepy mad scientist killed somebody and plbththh. Nah.
