Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Directions:

2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.


3. Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

<sub>[With his demon landlord suddenly gone, Maurice isn't entirely sure what to do with himself besides mope around the coffee house and stare into his not!reflection in the cup in front of him late into the evening.]

[BUT LO! A VOICE FROM UPON-- the other side of the room. The dead man stares at Lola and feels a wave of paranoia wash over him.]</sub>

You see me talkin' to anyone else?

[She grins a little, leaning against her palm.]

You look like death rolled over, frowning like that. C'mere and talk to me.

[toothaches]

<sub>[Maurice keeps that tight little frown for a moment. PRETTY LADIES WITH AWESOME HAIR DIDN'T USUALLY TALK TO HIM UNLESS THEY WERE PLANNING ON MURDERING HIM OK.]

[But this is Ruby City. Not The Other Place. Slowly he gets up and forgets his coffee where it sits and joins her.]</sub>

I kind of am. I like your hair.

[She grins, twirling a finger through it.]

It is my pride and joy. But, uh, you ain't bringin' your café along?

_{[It takes him a second to catch on. He leaves only long enough to retrieve it. He's not too worried about the taste. It was a coffee he'd ordered for spacing out into, not exactly enjoying.]}

I'm new. Lola Crúz. Mucho gusto.

[She crosses her legs and shrugs, sipping her coffee.]

You got a name, too?

Oh...I'm sorry. But you coulda ended up worse places, I guess.

_{[Maurice notes that she sure seems to be taking it well. He's just a little jealous.]}

Well, I'm from America, too. 2022. Baltimore, to be exact!

_{[That finally gets some of the gloomy fog that follows the fledgling around to lift.]}

Woah! Really? What's it like? I mean-- I know it might not be my America, but that's still so cool!

What other America would it be?

[A good-natured eyeroll, and Shebang shrugs.]

Just about the same as it's always been. Big guys in suits yellin' at each other, the occasional villainous 'mastermind', that kind of thing.

[toothaches]

Now, if I tell you that, how are you supposed to go about enjoying the surprise?

_{[He stretches his arms across the table slightly.]}

Well, I don't think it's all that cool, but my favourite thing is definitely being able to check my work documents from my phone.
