NOV. TEST DRIVE

Sorry to be late this time!

G'day, Ruby City!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

  • Post with your character with their name and canon on top!

  • Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.

  • If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.

  • Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.

Locations:

  1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

  2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

  3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!

  4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

  5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

  6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

  7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

Scenarios

  1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

  2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

  3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

  4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

Have fun, guys!

[ something tiny bumps into him from behind with a suitably tiny oof! mirai had been nervously cleaning her glasses and not looking where she was going - but with the collision, she quickly puts them back on and bows, whether he has turned to look at her or not. ]

Ah, excuse m— [ she straightens up and... stumbles back a little, staring up in shock and awe??? horror??? at what is most definitely a real live giant. ] ... Th-that's ridiculous...

[why are there so many tiny girls with pink hair in this city? iskandar turns quick enough to see her straighten and back away in fear. and to be fair to mirai, he is kind of absurdly huge. anybody would be scared seeing this guy in a shady aisle of shelves.] Ridiculous? [he glances at the books in his hand.] Three books don't seem that outlandish, do they?

W... What are you?! P-p-p-people aren't that big! It's just impossible!

[ but he's not a youmu, either, or she'd be able to see it, so she doesn't draw a weapon yet, she just... stares. what is wrong with this place. ]

Hm? Of course I'm a person. Just because the history books are mistaken about my height doesn't make me any less flesh and blood than others.

[ she stops shrinking back. ]

History books?

Where else would my adventures be written? [literally said with no undertones of pride. iskandar is stating a simple fact. history books tell history, right? and he counts as history so he's in there. all there is to it.]

Wouldn't the internet be a more common place? Rather than having autobiographies, blogs are pretty popular these days... And even if I get hate from everyone for writing about my life there, it's fine.

[ a total misunderstanding of what he meant. ]

[oh mirai. you must forgive his confused look, he's right from the early 90s. let's see, if we use context clues, a blog must be a thing like an autobiography; you write about your life and your cool video games you bought and your shirts you bought over the internet...using the internet? that's where she said blogs are. he could ask for her to explain herself, but he's a king, damnit. he would rather be wrong than ask for help, especially not from a girl who was afraid of him mere moments before. he's got this.]

Perhaps in this day and age, but we had no such thing in my time. Besides, it is not my duty to write down the large or small events of my life. I must have my mind on the present and future, not the past.
