[ She takes a few steps away, glancing up at the ceiling again before looking down at him. ] Don't worry. I'd be careful not to burn anything except the mistletoe. Besides... I don't see any. Do you?

[Waver looks up as well, taking an experimental step left.]

At the moment? [ Looks up again, mirroring him by taking a step to her own left. ]

... do you mean it can just suddenly show up?

HECK YES

Well, probably not, but given this city's tendency to pull stunts, I wouldn't be surprised.

[Aaaand another step, which is just as well. But now that he looks over at Xion, well--]

[ She seems to be standing under a sudden sprig of mistletoe. She simply stares up at it.

Without looking down, she kind of. Shrugs. ]

--Welp. Davesprite isn't around, is he?

[ That gets her to look at him, and blush indignantly. ]

Waver!

Yes?

[He smiles and shrugs, completely innocent.]

... I guess really everybody does know, huh... [ She rubs the back of her neck, glancing off to one side sheepishly, but with a goofy, fond smile she can't seem to swallow, either. ]

I hate to tell you, but you're both terrible at being subtle.

[Which isn't to say that the smile he offers back is anything less than pleased. He takes a beat, and walks over to kiss the top of Xion's head.]

[ She makes a sound at the back of her throat, too surprised to try and say anything else, when he presses a kiss to her hair. The feeling that washes over her is not one she's ever really experienced before. She thinks, maybe, she's felt it a little bit around Dirk, and some of the other residents of house 12. In those moments when they've protected her, kept her close, called her family. The warmth in her heart then... she feels it now. But there's something different about it.

It's not ... a bad feeling, she thinks. It's sort of ... nostalgic, and sad, and sweet, all at once. It makes her happy, but it also makes something in her chest go strangely tight.

Once Waver straightens up, he'll find that she's looking at him with an expression of perfect surprise, her bright blue eyes just a little wide.

And then, before the space of a breath has passed, she tips forward and throws her arms around him in a hug. ]

[Waver bends down a bit, just so Xion isn't dangling off the floor and straining her arms and his neck. There's no point in breaking the hug, hell he should have given her one after the Grail War for surviving all of that but, better late that never.]
