[Unlike Jason's kiss, which blind-sided Waver entirely, the lapel grab gave Waver a moment's heads up that he was about to be kissed. It's enough to make sure that he doesn't stiffen entirely, that he manages to relax after a moment, and that rather than keep his hands awkwardly glued to his side, one comes to rest slightly less awkwardly above Lamont's hip.]

[He lingers for a quite a while considering, then pulls back all at once, giving a sort of triumphant huff through his nose. Still, self-satisfied as he may seem, there's still an obvious blush on his cheeks, the embarrassment leaving him at a loss for what to say.]

[Waver's focus on how fast to move his hand - too fast would imply a dislike, too slow would be awkward - allowing his overthinking the entire damn situation to utterly bypass Lamont's moment of embarrassment.

It takes Lamont another moment to regain enough composure so he can force a grin, attempting to tease despite his own sheepishness.]
