After ten thousand years, I'm finally free! It's time to conquer Ruby City!
Hello again! I am Prof, who was her a while back with a certain trio of characters who appear in the background of the following image:
In the foreground is the new character I just apped in, Toyosatomimi no Miko from Touhou Project! She is a Taoist saint and a scheming magical politician, who has a pretty callous outlook on religion. She's based on (i.e. in her canon, they're the same person) the historical figure Prince Shōtoku, except in this version she's a girl, and instead of dying she went into a self-induced coma for a thousand years in an attempt to wait out the popularity of Buddhism.
Also, if you've ever heard Tojiko in this game talking about a Crown Prince, that's Miko. For another fun fact, Tojiko is based on Tojiko no Iratsume, who was Prince Shōtoku's wife.
Make of that what you will.
By the way, Miko has the ability to listen to someone's voice and from it perceive their innermost desires. This has all sorts of interesting ramifications, so I went ahead and set up a permissions post for it here. Please fill it out at your leisure.
