Brush Up Your Shakespeare

Hello, Ruby City! This is Kelsey, player of many, but most relevantly, Caster of Red, aka William Shakespeare, coming to you with a little player plot. If you've seen Will's latest post, you can probably guess what it is (actually you can probably guess either way, what else does Shakespeare do).

Will is going to be putting on a play, finally making use of the theatre. What play it is really depends on you guys, because I need to know what the cast size is and find something to work with it! Chances are it's going to be something by Shakespeare because he has a massive ego, but it could also be a musical (Kiss Me Kate, best of both worlds?) or something totally made up that he's written while in Ruby City...

I'm also letting you decide, to an extent, what sort of role your character has! Think they would be legitimately good at a certain character type? Think it would be funny to put them in something totally unfitting? I want that. Will wants that. Additionally, if you want your character to be part of it but they wouldn't want to, I think something can be arranged. If someone is anonymously signed up or some such, Will's not letting them get out of it.

So, this is how things are going to work! This post is for signups and questions, the signups will last until March 2nd. At which point I'll figure out the specifics and within the next couple days, get up another OOC post with information such as what play it is and a cast list. There will be an IC post accompanying it with that information as well, but the OOC post will have a more detailed rundown of what to expect. Basically, I'm in theatre production so I've put together many production proposals and mockups before and I swear to you I am going to go all out with this and do just that. There will be playbills, there will be costume and set designs, etc.

Timeline-wise, it's going to be something like this
Week 1 - IC casting call and request for behind-the-scenes work, OOC post for sign-ups
Week 2 - IC auditions and posting of cast list, OOC post for same and other details
Week 3-6 - Rehearsals, set/prop/costume work and probably two logs for it within the time, one for the start-middle, and one for the middle-end of production time, which would include a more descriptive timeline in the main post.
Week 7 - Performance, afterparty - these would go in the same log

There will be a few logs for general mingling and such going on throughout the time as you can see, and I'm going to set the performance for April 10th. If any particularly destructive events happen in that time, it might be pushed back a bit, because rehearsing while everything goes to hell probably isn't a good plan.

In the next few days posters will be going up around the city, advertising a casting call for February 27th and 28th and March 1st and 2nd. Cast lists and such will probably go up on the 5th and the rehearsals will start the next week. So if you'd like to sign up a character who's going to be part of the heartless event, don't worry about them not being around for this stuff! Will can maybe forgive that sort of absence anyway...
