Hellooooooo Ruby City! ♥ I enter your masses as a completely new player who is very excited to give this game a whirl /o/ My name is Styx, and the character I'm bringing in is Gold, from Pokemon Special! (Also known as Pokemon Adventures, PokeSpec, and a variety of other names).

PokeSpec is a manga adaptation of the Pokemon games (ish... it's a very loose adaptation that does a lot of things differently), and as his name suggests Gold is one of three protagonists hailing from Johto. He is... a stubborn, hotheaded, super shounen and careless protag too, but he has a good heart (HEART GOLD) and tries to do the right thing when he can. I'M EXITED TO PLAY HIM ;w;/

I played PokeSpe Red for a hot second before I re-repurposed the journal for gameverse Red. God though. What a great manga. I'm so happy to see someone playing from it here, you have no idea.

I was like .018234 millimeters away from playing Red myself before I read the GSC chapters and Gold was just. Very Gold and hit on all of my favorite personality types in a character. cry! It's good to meet another fan of the series and I hope we have the chance to thread sometime :Db!

Actually wait, before I do that: What are your feelings towards fourth-walling? Davesprite's a kid from 2009, he'd know what Pokemon are. I can avoid references no problem, though, if you'd rather not.

Man Pokemon is such a pop culture icon that I'm okay with fourth walling! I doubt Gold will think much of it anyway, and he'd probably take comfort in someone else knowing what it is /o/
