Davesprite's actually pretty conflicted about Sollux, despite not having spoken to him much yet. He was here when Dirk and the previous Sollux were dating, so he tries to think well of the troll, but the way Sollux refused to talk about the Auto-responder like he was a person made him really uncomfortable. Add to that that drama with killing Eridan and Eridan's revenge--which he couldn't help but compare to Terezi tricking John into killing himself in his timeline--and you get a weird wariness. He's open to friendly conversation with Sollux, but he doesn't trust him.
