Eridan has a lot of bad feelings about Kanaya, and most of them come from the fact that she kills him. Even in killing her, his feelings towards her weren't really all that bad! It was a necessary evil in his mind, but who ever said what Eridan thinks makes sense? Exactly. Before all the shit went down on the meteor, Kan and him were actually pretty alright friends, very sassy and kinda strange, but he went to her because he did, on some level, value her. Whether it was a value because of how much of a push over she could be is debatable, but one way or another. He was fond of her.
But then came that critical moment, when he blinded Sollux, killed Feferi, and there was Kan near the matriorb, playing witness to it all. He had reason to believe she'd attack him next, but she wasn't yet, so what better way to provoke her than to destroy her hope? Perfect. At that moment, he was more or less writing everyone off as an enemy, and killing Kanaya was one less hurdle in his way.
But now they're here, and he knows she comes back and kills him. Shit sucks bro. And death isn't permanent here so it seems pointless for him to go Eri The Rainbow Drinker Slayer on her ass, despite wanting to. And boy howdy, he wants to. But he knows it'll cause more issues.
If not for the fact she gets her revenge, Eridan would likely feel bad for killing her, like he does about feferi. But fuck THAT she got her revenge, he doesn't owe her fucking NOTHING. Except a piping hot serving of holy fucking fire, that's for damn sure! So most of his resentment is honestly coming from him being a sore loser to be honest.
So, even though he'd gladly kill her again if he could, he's fine with this stand off that seems to be happening. He's decided he hates her, and while not in a black way, he has no problem accusing her of such. IT GETS UNDER HER CREEPY UNDEAD SKIN AFTER ALL! What more could he want? Like, besides killing her but that's been established.
