A new Month, a new Test drive! Happy Early April.

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
Locations:
1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.
2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?
3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!
4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.
5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.
6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.
7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.
Scenarios
1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.
2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.
3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?
4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!
Have fun, guys!

Can you feel the intensity of that smirk, Hanna? Can you?

Still, she was making it quite obvious that she knew far more about him than he knew about her. "Anyways, how is this fair? I mean, obviously I missed out on my own sharing hour, so you should, well. Share some too. Make it even." He means, if you want. How old are you again? Did you say?

"And I told you! Ace medium, all that." Still, she's not going to leave him hanging. She puts her hand to her chin, trying to think of what she can tell him. It's... weird, knowing he straight up doesn't know a thing.
"Well, I turned 20 here-- you and me and Ishimaru all made cake, since Ishimaru didn't tell us it was his birthday. And uh, I draw sometimes! And my favourite superhero is The Steel Samurai-- man, I still didn't get you to read it before you left last time! The library has it, it's the best comic ever. I've been arrested three times and acquitted of all charges thanks to my boss-- Phoenix Wright, I mean-- aaaand I channel spirits!"
It's a mouthful and she speaks pretty fast... but he can keep up, right?
no subject
"Yeah, bu-" And before he even gets any sort of buts in, she's talking at him a mile a minute, and since it's Hanna of course he can keep up, but some of the little details blur a little. In any case her boss has a super cool name, kind of serious sounding and channeling spirits could totally come in handy sometime. Perhaps do good at keeping them at bay better than he could in most situations.
"Hopefully I didn't help too much with the cake." He doubts it would taste too well if he did, but it gets him to smile. That sounds like something regular friends would do...make shit for each other. Like how his Zombrochacho made pancakes sometimes in the morning for his opening shifts that really sucked after a night of looking for leads till way past his 'to stay healthy' rarely enforced bedtime. The cheap instant coffee helped on mornings like that too, but that was beside the pointe.e
"Maybe I can get you to read some Dresden if we can find it...But, Steel Samurai, huh? Kind of makes me think of Iron Man."

Before she continues, though, Maya slips her hands into her sleeves as though looking for something-- and then into pockets no one probably realised were on that uniform. Seriously, where did they come from?
"I have something of yours," she mumbles, obviously distracted. "Well, you didn't come here with it, but you said it was interesting so I made you one-- and I made one for Ishimaru, too."
no subject
"Oh...Uh, have you been carrying it around, like. This entire time?" Entire time being an indeterminate amount of time seeing as he has no idea how long it's been since she last saw him, but...still. It's weird talking to a girl like this. And she hasn't given him one of those looks that says 'you don't know how to talk to women' yet either...
Funky.

"Yeah-- I mean, it's like my magatama, but smaller," she tells him. Just as quickly as she says it, she realises she's still got the damn thing on her wrist-- an omamori she made a few months ago. "Ishimaru's is on his scarf, since he likes to go running and stuff."
She hands it to him nonchalantly; for all Maya knows (or cares), they've been friends for ages, and Hanna's just an awkward person around everybody. The charm's charged with as much spiritual energy as the small beads can hold, which isn't nearly as much as her magatama can, but enough that Maya trusted her gifts to keep Ishimaru and Hanna safe in the first place.
Any other time she might think it's strange, but she also knows how much of a giant nerd Hanna is. It's technically a magical artefact. This? This is pure nerd-ass fun right here.

The gifting has him staring at it a moment, wondering perhaps what he could have done to warrent something like this. Payment, sure. But, she's been holding onto this for quite a while it seems, and he can tell it's special. He can feel it, really. And...gifts huh. From a girl. A real live girl.
Before slipping it on, he gives it a good look, holding it up to his glasses and smiling at the work she's done. It's cool, and he's seen something in passing kind of like it, but...it very obviously wasn't his, and he didn't think something like it ever would be.
lowering the beads he almost fumbles them as he tries to casually put it on with his shaking hands. This was no big deal right? Obviously not. See, he's trying to not make it awkward, but... "Geez, thanks I mean, You sure? I...I figure it's pretty sturdy what with all that it gives off but, what if I break it? I swear, I'm the best at that. You...haha, you probably already know..."
He swallows hard, unable to really stop touching it, fiddling with it while it rested on it's new home of his skinny wrist. "Did I say thank you? I can't remember. Thank you. Really, um...thanks."
no subject
Hands on her hips, Maya shakes her head, feigning a sigh of exasperation. "I get that you don't remember how it works. That's cool. But we're friends, whether you remember or not. And we're gonna be friends, and if I ever come back and forget all this stuff, you're kinda totally obligated to make friends with me again."
...She adds, then, as if suddenly remembering-- "Oh, and you're not gonna break it. Trust me. If I can't break mine, you can't break that. The cord's that kind that gets stronger the more you wear it, see?" She even tugs on hers to demonstrate.
no subject
The added comment kind of makes him feel a little more relieved though, giving the cord his own demonstrative tug and sighs, "Okay good, like. Cause I was just imagining all the beads just falling to the floor and then I'd be pretty fucked. I mean, First thing a girls ever given me, I'd probably just, yanno. Start crying and be useless for weeks." Because admitting that isn't already pathetic enough, Hanna.
no subject
"But you still better take care of it," she said, putting that smirk back on. "The handiwork of cute girls is always super valuable. It's got like, collector's value or something."
"And just so you know, I'm totally cool enough to be worth the hassle. I know where all the best places in the city are."
no subject
"Naw, I mean. Hassle for you. And then you'd think I'm crazy and we'd get off on the wrong foot and tell everyone I'm a maniac." He sighs, as if it's already happened. "And then I'd have to skip town and learn to live with dragons and unicorns."
no subject
"And aren't you supposed to salute when you say 'scout's honor'? Like, something like--" she makes some sort of salute, but it certainly isn't correct.
no subject
Though her salute makes him snort, unsure if it's okay to laugh, but. He can't help it. It was a joke right? He can laugh at girls jokes. It's fiiiine, right?
Because okay, maybe that's more than a snort. "I think It's a little something not like that."
no subject
Almost pouting-- seeing as how it's hard to pout when you're laughing-- Maya shoots right back, "Then how do you do it? I bet you don't know either."
You're too scrawny to have been a boy scout, Hanna.
no subject
"Wait, wait I think I got this..." And he straightens up real serious, looking just about ready to do something, before he kind of explodes in a laugh and a grin again. "Nope, I lied."
no subject
no subject
"Directions maybe, but I don't think it's so important. The words are what matters, anyways. Not some silly salute."
no subject
no subject
"But, you figure everyone in the court room should swear right, I mean. You won't want anyone lying there. But I suppose, if you'd rather I could just cross my heart or something."
no subject
"You sure your heart isn't always crossed?" Because Maya'd be damned if that wasn't a killer pun. (A million times better than Luke Atmey, anyway.)
no subject
"Well if my heart isn't, my foot is." He promises, not sure if she was aware of his scar on his foot either, but. well, he thought it was clever.
