Plotting for Captain Roger's Army

Hey RC! I wanted to do a follow up OOC post to Steve's Recruitment Post so everyone can know the deal. This is going to be a LONG post, so bear with me.

So here's the thing. Steve's roughly divided the city into four different zones, and three shifts. He's going to try to have at least ONE person covering each zone at every given time. The expectation is that the person will wander around the area, watching and listening for trouble. The obelisk roughly forms the central point where the four zones meet. Steve will make sure that only the most powerful fighters are assigned to the Eastern zone, because it includes the park.

The following people are on his list as fighters:

The people in THIS list are non-combatants or people who were resistant to actually volunteering whose job during their shift is to either observe from the air, or watch the network and help coordinate so the fighters can quickly get to where they're needed:

Jane Foster
Aerith Gainsborough
Aqua (not a volunteer, existing air patrol)
Davesprite (not a volunteer, existing air patrol)
Celty (not a volunteer, existing ground patrol)

And finally, there are certain people Steve has designated as squad leaders. They are to coordinate multiple patrols and supervise them directly:

Edward Nygma
Yang
Thorin
Steve Rogers

Note there are more people than needed for the patrols, so people will NOT have to be on every single day. The more people he adds, the easier it'll be for everyone, and he'll be actively continuing to recruit. His ultimate goal is to have overlapping zones so that everywhere is covered by two people, one of which has magical ability, at any given time. Each of the leaders is in charge of one of the big zones.

This is not going to be something I will actively OOCly administer after this. If you want to participate and are not on this list you can go ahead and assume you talked to Steve and he added you to the roster. If you want to play out the conversation, go ahead and contact Steve on his IC contact page or on any post or thread he makes in the future.

I may do a proper write-up for this later, so if you could let me know OOCly if you want to be added to the list, that would be helpful.

Every volunteer that Steve doesn't already know well can expect to have Steve join them during their patrol at least once. He'll be getting to know them as well as watching them fight, making sure that they're the kind of people he can trust to do this. I probably don't have time to play all of these threads out, lol.

You are all welcome OOCly to just pick an area and shift that you want and use it as a means for building CR. You can also pick one of the squad leaders and build CR with them! Just have fun with this. If you have any questions, go ahead and ask me :3

Also, Mitsuru is a capable fighter, despite being an 18 year old girl. She also has full heals, but she's a killer ice mage. Just ask Minato.

She needs something constructive to fuel her days.

It occurs to me that if Mitsuru and Steve hit it off, he might make her a squad leader eventually. She does have leadership experience.

Well, we can thread them meeting? She's really capable for her age. And if Junpei lasted a whole year under her ultimate command without dying a horrible death, I'm sure the residents of Ruby City would fair better?

I don't think Sofia here is gonna be joining any group without some convincing, but she's a lot like Iron Man in power. Only a whole lot stronger. So even if she decides not to join, maybe she can still help out sometime?

Steve won't turn down any help, and she doesn't have to be an official volunteer to help people out. She just wouldn't be assigned any kind of patrol.

I'd suggest maybe we try to have them talk sometime and see what happens?

Sure. She's still on hermit mode as part of my hiatus, but when I return, she'll be frequenting the Black Stallion or the tea shop in town. I don't have huge plans for her yet.

First of all, thanks for all the hard work! I mean, you made up a patrol map and everything!

Diarmuid doesn't need to sleep so he literally can do any patrol at any time. I don't know if having a 'filler' people could contact if they can't make patrol is something you want to worry about, but he would certainly be up for it. Otherwise, considering his skill in fighting and his toughness/resistances, throwing him over at the park would probably not be a bad idea. It will take a lot to hurt him...and whatever is trying to do so will have to catch him first.

For squad leaders, I really don't have a preference. Obviously, he's had the one thread with Steve now and has had a few threads with Thorin in the past, but I am also up for new CR so.... *shrug* If certain squads end up with certain areas, I am all for just having him with whatever group ends up watching the park area.

I'm thinking Steve will be covering the park, so if you want him to be in that squad, that would work for me! :3

And Steve WOULD take advantage of him not needing to sleep, if he knew about it. Coverage of the night shift, at the very least, would be helpful.

He would be glad to be in the same squad with Steve, so that works perfectly with me. And, take advantage away. Diarmuid really supports this effort and will be glad to do whatever he can to help it succeed.

I was thinking of letting the thread we are doing now end with that last tag of yours, but if you want I can have Diarmuid volunteer a little bit of information about himself so Steve has that ICly to work with. Diarmuid is a terribly honest person and so he doesn't mind sharing who and what he is with people--especially those he will be working with.

We can end the thread there if that's a good spot, and assume that Steve finds out. I mean, I figure he'll meet up with Lancer to see him fight in any case, and will find out a bit more about him at that point.

Works for me! I have no problem handwaving Steve finding out like that, since I figured he would want to go out with Diarmuid at least once considering they have just met. Just let me know if you have any questions. I have no idea how familiar you are with his canon.

I've seen Fate/Stay Night, though I wouldn't say I remember everything XD So I have a general idea of how the world works, but I don't remember a lot of details.

No worries! :-D A general idea is better than nothing at all, especially in a world that is as messed up as Fate can be. And if it helps any, I do have Diarmuid's app on his journal, so his skills are listed there. Most any of that he would have told Steve if asked, especially if they ended up fighting something on patrol and Steve had questions afterward.

Awesome XD! I'll keep that in mind. And Steve would likewise have been open about what he can do and willing to give demonstrations of his hand-to-hand techniques and how his shield works.

Wonderful! Diarmuid is a firm believer that a true warrior never stops learning so he would be very happy to see how Steve fights. Especially how he uses the shield. Somehow, I just see Diarmuid staring with wide eyes for a while, totally speechless. He might know a little bit about how shields are used, but he's never seen them used like that before! LOL!

And now I have a mental image of Diarmuid bouncing off anything he can find to avoid the ricochets of the shield during a sparring session. This amuses me... :-)

I'll be volunteering Integra for this! She's an experienced combatant, well-versed in the occult, and specializes in hunting vampires. As per her occupation, she'll be better suited for night shifts.

Man I totally missed this. Rin would be all over this sort of thing. And actually, Eren too. He already patrols the park a lot of the time, so that'd be an easy add :D

Rin has pyrokinetic powers, increased healing, and a sword. Eren has instant healing abilities and skill in hand-to-hand fighting and swordplay, as well as his 3DMG for moving around.
