[The moment the Captain came to realize he didn't actually have to pay for anything, you can bet he got a whole bottle of rum for himself. He made it a priority to fill his flask first, then began drinking a good deal of the rest. He was well over halfway through it when that familiar voice sent a sort of shudder across his skin, like nails on a chalkboard. He knocked back another heafty swig before turning to look at the crocodile. Sure enough, he wasn't just imagining things. Lucky him. He was clearly so thrilled to see his ex-enemy.]

A few hours at best. Whoever brought me here must have a cruel sense of humor.

[He sounds downright annoyed. If it weren't for the fact the was certain Rumple wouldn't have dragged them both out of Neverland to this...place, he may have placed blame on the Imp. Though his brows furrow at the thought. Both he and Rumple were stolen from Neverland? To what end? Could it be Pan wanted to ruin their chances of saving Henry?]

How long have you been here? Do you know anything? [It's hard to keep all of the accusation out of his voice, but it's more bold curiosity than anything. He wants answers.]

[Yeah he's not too entirely thrilled to see you either pirate, though at least he's got something of an upper hand here. He has superior knowledge of their situation and the city. Eventually that edge will vanish, but it'll be nice to lord it over Hook for a little while.]

I've been here over two months now. I know plenty about the city, I've certainly not been idle these last couple months. Just what is it you want to know first?

[He very nearly starts spouting more questions but he's not quite drunk enough. He stops himself in time, eying the older man and debating what it might cost him to get information. Like hell a tentative truce will be enough to get him free answers from the Croc.]

What's the price?

[Okay, that does get a small chuckle out of him. He considers the question for a few seconds before replying.]

You don't attempt to besmirch my name here. The majority here knows me as Mr. Gold, not Rumpelstiltskin. Unless they figure my name out for themselves, I'd prefer they know me solely as Gold. Deal?

[That's it? A slender brow lofts lightly at the deal but he sets his cup down to take Gold's hand in a firm shake. He wasn't going to question it and potentially be made to pay a steeper price.]

[He motions for a second glass and when it's given he pours out a fresh cup for Gold, sliding it to him.]

I supposed the big question is why are we here and who did this?

[He'll accept the glass, sniffing the liquor to identify it before taking a small drink of it.]

The first question is actually one that's still under debate, as for who, there's apparently a group of people that are more powerful than either I or Pan ever thought of being. They're the ones who run this city after a fashion.

So... these people just got bored and decided to pull us out of something important? Or do you think they're working with Pan?

[For once he's sure he and the Crocodile could agree about that one thing. They're getting in the way of saving Henry. He may not be close to the kid but he mattered to Emma and he was determined to help them in whatever way he could. He honestly worried about the group, without him they were going to have some serious trouble navigating that island. They'd be lucky if someone wasn't killed.]

Actually, I have no idea what their plans on. I learned upon arrival, that I'd already been here once before. It would appear that time elsewhere stands still once we arrive here. The moment we leave this city, we return to exactly when we left, none the wiser about being in this world.

[He took another drink, then continued.]

I can vouch for the last part at the very least. I certainly don't remember ever being here before I arrived here two months ago. I don't know when you were pulled, but I was on your ship going through the portal to Neverland, to save my grandson, and I have a feeling if time didn't stand still, you would have noticed my disappearance.

[Time stands still? There's an odd relief in hearing that news, he'd rather go right back to where he was taken from rather than wind up having missed the whole thing, or worse. Not to mention that means there was a way back, if Gold was here then gone and back again? Could that mean they could go home, if only to finish what they started? After that... once everything was fixed and safe, well, if he got pulled back here again then so be it. So long as Emma and the others were getting their Happily Ever After.]

It hasn't been two months, that's for sure and you just up and disappeared before we all arrived on the island.

[He takes a swig and sighs.]

So what is it they want us to do? Just... live here as their prisoners until they get bored?

[And since Rumple didn't remember being here to begin with then he probably doesn't remember how he left.]
