4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

[Charley has made it a habit to stop by the train station every now and then to see if any newcomers have arrived in Ruby City. Maybe some day, someone she knows will arrive.

Well, whoever's in the station today is not anyone she recognizes by the voice as the strange man talks to himself, but when Charley rounds the corner she freezes, staring in surprise at the man walking in circles.

She knows that face. Well, at one time she knew him as Reverend Townsend, but that had only been what the TARDIS wanted her to see. Now, Charley knows the truth.]

...Doctor?

[ That's his name. Someone's calling his name and he doesn't recognise the voice. ]

Hm?

[ He turns towards her, eyebrows raised, before it's all fully registered. Before it sinks in. Doctor. Out of a mouth on a face he doesn't recognise either. But that doesn't make sense.

Unless this really is the afterlife. As if there is such a thing. Is there such a thing? He finds it very difficult to wrap his head around. ]

Do I know you?

Not yet.

[She smiles as she approaches, hoping she didn't startle him too much.]

Sorry about that. My Doctor showed me his past incarnations during a conversation we had recently. Well, that and the TARDIS...

[She pauses and shakes her head.]

Nevermind. It's a long story, and you're probably getting a little chilly out here. Would you like to come to the TARDIS? She can't fly, but we still live in her.

Past incarnations?

[ Not ... the afterlife, then. ]

Oh, so I've got a future, then, have I? That's nice.

Er, yes...you have a future. I suppose it's not too awful to reveal the part of your future where you actually have one.

[His answer is slightly unnerving, though.]

Why? Are you afraid you don't have one?

Oh, I thought I was dying, that's all. Didn't think I'd regenerate, although now I'm not sure how I'm supposed to make sense of everything.

[ Because it still leaves the question of how he can be here. In this body. It doesn't make sense, and that's the problem. ]

What is this place?

Oh, I'm sorry. Still, at least it's a comfort to know that you do regenerate. Well...as much of a comfort as you can get from the idea of regenerating.

[ Charley looks around, not that it's at all helpful where they are. ]

We're in Ruby City. It's like a city in the middle of nowhere, and I do mean nowhere. Once you reach a certain point, there's nothing but...nothing.

Nowhere. Right. Okay.

It's got to be a projection of something, then. Or something like that.

[ Because it doesn't make sense otherwise. Just doesn't. ]

A projection? Well, it's as good a theory as any.

Perhaps you and the other Doctors can discuss it. Who better to figure it out than all of you?

[ His lips twitch. Well. ]

There has to be an explanation like that. Otherwise it doesn't make sense that I'm completely fine.

[ A pause, and he throws a look down at himself. ]

Well, almost. Not dying of poisoning, at least.

You look completely fine to me.

[ Down, Charley. No flirting with your Doctor's past. Even if he is rather lovely to look at. ]

I suppose you'd like to see the TARDIS, specifically the infirmary so you can check yourself out and make sure you are completely fine?

[ Blink. ]

Ah, the TARDIS is here? I wasn't sure I should hope for that.

Actually, yes, though not exactly your TARDIS. I mean...a future you's TARDIS.

I can show you where it is, if you like.

[ He clasps his hands behind his back, clears his throat and bounces a little on his heels. ]
